POSITION DESCRIPTION
For the past 18 years, I have been a professional educator in the nonprofit sector. The experience gained by doing every task imaginable from creating interactive science materials and curricula; volunteer and staff recruitment, training and management; conducting professional workshops for teachers; as well as developing and managing the funds to keep programs viable make me an ideal employee.
As Education Director for the Environmental Volunteers (EV), my responsibilities included: collaborating with the Board of Directors' Education Committee, paid staff, docents, community businesses and agencies, and local teachers and students (elementary to college levels). I directed the creation, development and implementation of all EV programs. I was also responsible for the creation of the materials that accompany these programs. Other aspects of this position included: up-dating and revising existing programs; grant writing and management of grant funds; budget creation and management; training and evaluating volunteers and staff; creating, writing and editing all education materials for the organization; and conducting national and local professional workshops for educators. I also enjoyed maintaining a high level of visibility for the organization through networking strategies with community groups and other nonprofit organizations on both local and national levels.
