**An individual who is admitted to a graduate program based on a valid prior-level certificate from another state must hold the prerequisite Alabama Professional Educator Certificate before applying for the Alabama Class A or AA certificate. An individual who does not hold the prerequisite Alabama certificate may not be recommended for certification. The Class A Instructional Leadership program requires a valid Alabama Class B or Class A in a teaching field or an ISP area or a valid Class A in an ISP area for admission.
