*An infrastructure or community space addition could be as simple as a few raised beds or could be a composting system, benches, pic-nic table arbour, walking path gazebo, pergola, etc.

1) Projects not on City land should consult the landowner on their site plan to ensure that it suits any possible accessibility and design requirements they may have.
2) For gardens on City-owned land, we need to have the site plan with any new features or additions submitted with your application.
3) For gardens on City land the project must take into account the City's accessibility requirements. Before submitting your 2017 Community Garden Development Fund Application for Existing Gardens please be in contact with the Community Gardening Network Coordinator so the requirements can be incorporated into the project budget and plan.

*Gardens will be assed on their ability to pay their operational expenses before being given additional funds. If you still have a shortfall you need to identify what the gap is and how this will change, and by when. Gardens are expected to be covering their own program and operational expenses (routine soil amendments, replacing lumber or tools and equipment, purchasing water, etc.) as the Community Garden Development Fund is only for capital expenditures (New Garden Beds, water infrastructure, new garden features, etc.). If you are unsure about a particular expense please contact the CG Coordinator before the application deadline.
