PROJECT & LOCATION:Brockport Migrant Education Program -- SUNY Brockport SALARY RANGE: $12.00/ hourstarting*
DURATION OF APPT.:09/01/15-08/31/16 P/T/A NO.: 1000595-23*73745______PART-TIME 12-30 hours/week (some evenings)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES INCLUDING LEVEL OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
Assess the needs of every migrant child within a specified service area and plan an appropriate program, which will enable each student to reach a high standard of performance.
Provide tutorial services to at risk students either through in-school or after school programs.
Provide advocacy by linking with service providers in the area and referring students and families as needed.
Assist the school in making appropriate grade placement and entrance into special programs as needed.
Transport students and parents on an as needed basis, e.g. to PAC meetings or Parent-teacher meetings.
Act as a liaison between assigned school district and parents through making home visits on a regular basis.
Participate in parent meetings and field trips.
Attend local and State professional development workshops.
Maintain a folder on every migrant student that includes a statement of goals, a plan of action, periodic updates and record of supplemental services provided. Fulfill data collection requirements.
Perform other duties as directed by theDirector.
Required Qualifications:
Bilingual (English-Spanish)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Post secondary education, preferably a B. S. Degree
Career goals related to education
Driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Ability to work with a culturally diverse population
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching Experience
Excellent math skills
SPECIAL NOTES: *(dependent upon education and experience

Work sites in Monroe, Orleans & Niagara Counties.
Evening and weekend hours in homes and labor camps.
This position is subject to The Research Foundationfor SUNY policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines, and
the availability of funding. All finalists for this position will be subject to suitable pre-employment background
investigation and may include confirmation of credentialing. Offers may not be extended until we receive a
positive outcome from the pre-employment background investigation. This position is subject to annual renewal
based on performance and the availability of funds.
