NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF THE

LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK:

CORE STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT PLAN DOCUMENT

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council formally adopted its Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) on24th March 2010. The document is also accompanied by a Sustainability Appraisal, an Appropriate Assessment, an Infrastructure Strategy and a Consultation Statement.

The Core Strategy DPD sets out the vision and objectives that will underpin all the Council’s development plan documents, and sets out the spatial strategy for meeting known and anticipated development requirements to 2024, including the number of dwellings required. It includes a limited range of strategic policies to guide the preparation of more detailed policies in subsequent plans.

Copies of the Core Strategy DPD and the accompanying documents are available for public inspection free of charge from 24th March2010 at:

  • Planning Department, Gloucester House, Church Road, Stockton (between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 Monday to Thursday inclusive, and 08:30 and 16:30 Friday)

Any person aggrieved by the Core Strategy DPD may make an application under Section 113 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 to the High Court on the grounds that the document is not within the appropriate powers and/or a procedural requirement has not been complied with. Any such application must be made within six weeks from 24th March 2010.
