PRESS RELEASE
A DESPERATE GANG OF AUTOLIFTERS, ROBBERS/BURGLARES BUSTED: SEVEN
STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED
With the arrest of notorious Auto lifter Pawan @ Sonu S/o Tej Singh
and his associates namely Vinod Kumar S/o Jagmeer Singh, Pramod S/o
Ved Prakash, Pradeep S/o Dharampal, Sunil Kumar, Chaman Singh,
Narender S/o Bharat Singh & Shekhar S/o Mahavir all residing presently
at village Behta Hazipur, Loni, U.P, North East special staff has
worked out 10 cases of Motor Vehicles theft, burglary and one case of
robbery of PS Civil Lines Sonepat. 1 Alto Car, 5 Motor Cycles and 1
Scooter have been recovered from their possession.
TEAM AND INCIDENT
A team consisting of Inspector Jai Krishan, Incharge Special Staff,
North East Distt. , SI Arun Kumar, SI Rakesh Yadav, ASI Dev Charan ,
ASI Ravinder, Ct. Arvind , Ct. Sachin, Ct. Vinay , Ct. Surender and
Ct. Saleem was constituted under the close supervision of Shri L.R.
Meena ACP/Ops. North East Distt. to prevent and contain the incident
of M.V. theft and to develop information above the Auto lifters
operating in the Shahdara area.
On 21.03.2009 , a secret information was received by SI Rakash Yadav
of Special Staff that at about 12.30 PM , a gang of Auto lifters,
driving an Alto Car and a stolen motor cycle would come from Apsara
Border and will go towards Gagan
Cinema, Nand Nagri for selling the same. On receipt of this
information, a trap was laid near SDM office Nand Nagri. At about 1
PM an Alto car driven by Pawan with
other four persons and a motor cycle men were seen coming from
Seemapuri side. Both the vehicle were stopped by the Police Party on
the pointing out of the informer and they were asked to show the
documents of the Car and the Motor Cycle . But they could neither
produce any document of ownership of these vehicles nor did they give
any satisfactory replay regarding possession of these vehicles. On
verification, it was found that the vehicles were stolen from the area
of PS M.S. Park.
INVESTIGATION AND RECOVERY
On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that the accused Pawan @
Sonu has formed his gang after release from Jail about six month ago
in a vehicle theft case of PS Loni , UP. They used to commit theft in
the area of PS Shahdara, PS. M.S. Park and the adjoining area. On
the instance of the accused persons, four more Motor Cycle and One
Scooter were recovered, resulting in working out of 10 cases of North
East Distt. They committed House burglary also during theft of
Alto Car from Ram Nagar, M.S. Park , Delhi. Pawan and his associates
had stolen two esteem cars also from Ram Nagar M.S. Park, Delhi which
were left abandoned in Loni, U.P. seeing Policemen checking vehicles.
Pradeep is also wanted in robbery case of PS Civil Lines, Sonepat ,
Haryana. The concerned police has been informed.

PROFILE
Pawan @ Sonu S/o Tej Singh r/o Gali No. 7 Utranchal Colony, Behta
Hazipur , Loni U.P. is 29 years old and he is master mind of this
gang. He is expert in art of opening the vehicle locks through the
duplicate keys. He was released from U.P. Dasna Jail about six months
ago in a vehicle theft case of PS Loni UP. He has been earlier
arrested in five cases of vehicle thefts of PS M.S. Park in 2003 when
One Maruti Van, One Scooter and three Motor cycles were recovered from
him. He was arrested in one vehicle theft case of PS Seemapuri
also at that time. He remained in Jail for about 3 years. After
release from jail, he was again arrested by Police of PS Loni in a
vehicle theft case of Motor Cycle and he was sent to jail. He has
reconstituted this new gang after release from the jail. He has been
involved in several cases of Motor vehicle theft of Delhi and Loni
UP. He belongs to a poor family of village Risthal , Loni, UP. He
