PARS Connect – Attendance, Basic Behaviour & Notices
PARS Remote Access Data Entry; PARS Connect has been designed as a simple interface for data entry by teachers whether on school site via the web or home access. Connect does not include all the features of PARS Client and it is recommended that administration/pastoral and network staff should use PARS Client. If there are features in PARS Client that you would like to see in PARS Connect then please send a request to your Network Manager who can then contact TASC support desk.
When logging into PARS Connect, you will immediately see your own timetable; your timetable will show any classes timetabled for yourself and also cover classes.
Red boxes = your timetabled class with statutory marks (usually form period)
Grey boxes = your timetable class non statutory
Purple boxes = classes you are covering with statutory marks (usually form period)
Blue boxes = classes you are covering non statutory
You can define your school start/end day and
also interval times on your Timetable.
This timetable is showing 30 min intervals
To do this, RIGHT-CLICK on your mouse and
you will see a window; choose what you require
and click ‘Set’ to save.
Open a message:
To open the message, click on the message box icon
To send a message:
Create Message then click ‘recipients’ to choose
Pupil information
Pupil information button will show you cumulative year to date information regarding a pupil
Click select a student Highlight person for list and click ‘OK’
Pupil information is broken down into sections and can be found by clicking on the tab buttons
Personal Tab
Click on the expansion to see further student information
Registers
Double click on the register you want to open (or select shortcut from toolbar)
To take a register – you can use the mark all as present button to mark all students with a ‘/’ code and then manually change to a ‘N’
If you are not using ‘mark all as present, then
either use the keys on your keyboard
representing the Attendance mark (/ N L)
Or click the cell where you want the mark to
be entered and choose from a drop down list of codes
available to you.
Your attendance may have already entered
a code if a student is absent – you will not
be able to overwrite this and will need to
contact the appropriate person if the student
has arrived at class
As soon as the register has been taken, select
If you enter a Late – please also enter a time as this will allow for tracking how many times and how many minutes of education a student is missing due to lates.

Behaviour
From a register you can enter merits and demerits – criteria are configured by your school and setup ready for you to use.
From a register you will see smiley faces
Positive being green
Negative being red
(You may also see a neutral which is orange)
When a behaviour log has been added for a student in any classes today, you will see a face appear in your register
To enter behaviour for individual/multiple students, click on the smiley icon required on the header of the column …. Example: giving Jacob and Randeep and demerit for missing homework
Click on face and this will open a behaviour entry screen
First select the students by clicking on the browse button
Then select students by clicking
in the boxes
Once you have chosen students, click back onto the browse button to close the drop down
- Click on Category and select drop down to choose category required; a category is a folder to which grounds (reasons) and sectioned into
- Click on Ground and you will see the grounds available under the chosen category. Grounds are defined incidents
- Choose the location if required
- Choose an outcome
If you want to enter further
Comment click on the
CommentsTab at the top (***)
To complete logging of incident click ‘Accept’ in the footer – if you want to see first screen or add another student, click on the incident tab. Clicking ‘Accept’ on any screen will suggest you have finished entering data.
Once you have entered the behaviour and accepted, you will see the smiley faces appear in the register
Referring a behaviour incident
If you want to refer a behaviour incident this is also an option when logging a behaviour incident
Once accepted, the referred person will pick up a notification from either NOTICES as demonstrated on page 4 of this guide or from the bottom of the timetable screen if using PARS Client
To enter a behaviour incident not in your class register (example; running in corridor, smoking at lunchtime) you can go to the main menu and choose Behaviour > Add behaviour incident.
To collect incidents that have been referred to you, click on ‘collect behaviour referrals’
To edit and incident referral, tick the box next to the students name and select the pencil icon on the tool bar ‘edit an incident’. This will take you to the incident where you can add further comments and detentions/on report if required (detention and on report system will require configuring by your administration prior to use)
