The Appointments Board at its 470th meeting held on 31st of October and 2nd November 2011, made the following decisions upon which you are kindly requested to take the necessary action and inform Council accordingly.
A. PROBATION APPOINTMENTS(Effective 1st December 2011)
1. Dr. Christopher Ndoleriire was appointed a Lecturer on probation in the Department of Ear, Nose & Throat.
2. Ms. Philda Maiga was appointed Assistant Lecturer on probation in the Department of Commercial Law.
3. Mr. Kabumba Busingye was appointed Assistant Lecturer on probation in the Human Rights and Peace Centre.
4. Ms. Lois Mutibwa was appointed Assistant Lecturer on probation in the Department of Library and Information Science.
5. Ms. Margaret Nagwovuma was appointed Assistant Lecturer on probation in the Department of Information Technology.
6. Ms. Beatrice Achan was appointed Lecturer on probation in the Department of Medical Microbiology.
7. Dr. Gabriel N. Kasozi was appointed Lecturer on probation in the Department of Chemistry.
B. CONTRACT APPOINTMENT/RENEWAL
1. Prof. R.J. Ikoja – Odongo, Department of Library and Information Science,
was offered a 4 – year contract with effect from 28th July 2011 up to 28th July 2015.
2. Dr. Wesana Chomi was offered a contract as Lecturer, Department of African Languages, up to end of the Semester i.e with effect from 1st December 2011 up to 28th February 2012.
3. Mr. Henry Bongyereirwe was offered a terminal contract of one year as Assistant Lecturer, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, with effect from
1st December 2011 up to 30th November 2012.
C. DISCIPLINARY CASES
1. Mr.Gilbert Kadilo, Senior Public Relations Officer, Vice Chancellor’s Department, was dismissed from the University Service with effect from 1st December 2011, for insubordination:.
(a) By refusal to take up secondment in the Department of Mass Communication.
(b) By refusal to appear before the Appointments Board three times; on 27th April 2011; on 25th July 2011 and 2nd November 2011.
Further decisions of the Board will be communicated to you in due course.
