3. Course synopsis:
This course covers various water, air and noise pollution control technique and technology. Discussion includes fundamental theory, feature and application of each technique or technology.
4. Course syllabus:
a. Rationale
A clear understanding of the concept or technology of pollution control will allow students to become more familiar with the fundamental of pollutants treatments. A first course in technology of pollution control also serves as an introduction to the development of logic, deductive reasoning and pollution control technology as a tool towards sustainable development.
b. Learning outcomes:
At the end of the course students will be able to:
i. identify the appropriate pollution control technique to treat or control pollutant (C1, A1);
ii. illustrate the appropriate pollution control technique to treat or control pollutant (C3, P2, A3, CTPS3, EM2); and
iii. build suitable pollution control technique to be used in order to solve a specific pollution problem (C3, P4, A3, CTPS3, CS3, TS1, LS2).
