AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 320

RE SALVAGE YARDS, IMPOUND LOTS AND CAR LOTS

Summary

This Ordinance amends Code of Ordinances Chapter 320 to add Code of Ordinances Chapter 320.408.14 to require that salvage yards and impound lots be entirely screened from public view with a fence at least eight (8) feet above the highest point of the lot and to meet landscaping requirements; to operate on a hard surface; to meet all applicable state and federal environmental standards; and to protect the surrounding area from noise, odor, flare, dust, gas, smoke, vibration, and fluids; salvage yards may not be operated closer than a thousand feet from the right-of-way of any road unless a permit is obtained from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet; all salvage materials and activities for salvage yards shall be within fully enclosed buildings and no rubbish, junk or miscellaneous material shall be placed in open storage; impound lots are limited to a maximum size of two (2) acres and all vehicles must be parked as in conventional parking lots; auto mechanical repair and auto body repair may only have a maximum of twenty-five (25) automobiles on the premises and must screen automotive parts or road unworthy automobiles from public view with a fence that is at least eight (8) feet above the highest point of the lot. This Ordinance amends the Land Use Chart to change impound lots from a Permitted Use in I-1 to a Conditional Use and to change them from a Permitted Use in I-2 to a Prohibited Use. This Ordinance amends the Land Use Chart; to change salvage yards from a Permitted Use in I-1 to a Prohibited Use, and to change from Permitted Use in I-2 to a Conditional Use. This Ordinance also changes the definitions for impound lot and salvage yards and adds definitions for auto mechanical repair, auto body repair, and inherent compatibility in Chapter 320 Article V to refer to the regulations adopted by this Ordinance. This Ordinance also revises 320.408.8 to state when a separate building site is required that it includes land uses that may not require a building and to state that all land uses, unless inherently compatible, proposed to be in mixed use zones or specifically permitted elsewhere in the ordinance, require separate building sites/lots.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF MAYSVILLE

KENTUCKY ANNUAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1 JULY 2017

THROUGH 30 JUNE 2018

WHEREAS, an annual budget proposal and message has been prepared and delivered to the Board of Commissioners by the City Manager pursuant to KRS 91A.030 and Code of Ordinances section 131.01; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has reviewed such a budget proposal and made the following necessary modifications.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF MAYSVILLE, KENTUCKY, as follows:

AN ORDINANCE REGULATING

CARRYING CONCEALED DEADLY WEAPONS ON CITY PROPERTY

Summary

This Ordinance adds Code of Ordinances Section 210.02 to prohibit persons from carrying a concealed deadly weapon into Maysville Municipal Building Commission Chamber except for sworn officers of the police department and other law enforcement officers.
