Development of Resource Packs for the National Rail Museum

CBSE INVITES ACADEMIC EXPERTS FOR DEVELOPING RESOURCE PACKS FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN VISITING NATIONAL RAIL MUSEUM

CBSE invites academic experts including Principals and teachers for developing resource packs for different age groups of school children under National Rail Museum Project.

It is common knowledge that museums are looked upon as a major source of education for children. In order to inculcate this interest in younger generation, CBSE is collaborating with National Rail Museum to develop resource packs for school children visiting National Rail Museum. The prime objective of this project is to introduce young children to the reservoir of information in a visually appealing manner. These packages will be carefully designed keeping in view different age groups and interests of the children. The salient features of this initiative are as follows :

1.  The story of Railways in the world and in India, in a format that would appeal to children and also cover the future.

2.  A Bird’s eye view of what to expect in the museum and what the children can see.

3.  Co-relating items that are seen in the museum with something that children are studying currently for which a section for children of different age groups with interactive, hands-on models and exhibits will be set up.

4.  The Learning Centre would be inside a Coach, properly Air Conditioned / Air Cooled and converted into a comfortable Sit Down space, with simple Audio Visual Facilities and Interactive models.

Appropriate honorarium will be given to selected experts/principals/teachers.
