The Jephcott Charitable Trust
Thank you for your interest in the Jephcott Charitable Trust.
We will be happy to receive your application and consider carefully your request for funding towards a specific worthwhile project which your Charity or Organisation is planning.
The Jephcott Charitable Trust receives many hundreds of proposals and applications each year and it is worth noting that, despite the high number of well deserving applications, only a very few will be successful. Those that are successful will have a 'best fit' with the aims of the Trust and are closely matched to our objectives. It is therefore very important to refer to these guidelines before submitting your appeal.
The Trustees normally meet in April and October each year. It can take several months from the date of submission for a Trustee to be in a position to present and support an appeal at the Trustees’ meeting. Please ensure that the Trust will have time to consider your application before the funds are required. We will inform you of any decision when it is reached.
We look forward to receiving your application in due course.
Yours sincerely
The Secretary
The Jephcott Charitable Trust

The funding priorities are:
Population Control
Education

The diversity of appeals presented to the Trust makes it very difficult to apply definite rules for selection. The Trustees are very flexible in their approach and take into account the following when considering a project:
'Pump-priming' donations - usually given to new organisations and areas of work
The ability to effectively evaluate and monitor the long-term benefit and value of the donation
Local involvement in overseas projects and local sourcing of any materials required
Involvement with a third party - for example ODA, NGO
Charity administration costs as a percentage of funds raised – this should be below 15%
The reserves and assets held by the Charity
Whether the project is basic or palliative, on-going and long-term
To what extent has the organisation has helped themselves and sought to raise funds
Whether the applicant has been the subject of any adverse comment or action by the Charity Commission - If so full details must be provided
NOTES ON APPLYING TO THE TRUST
Applications must be made on the Application Form and must be sent to the Secretary
All appeals should include clear details of the need the intended project is designed to meet and exactly why funds are needed
All applications must be from a registered charity or must give the name of a registered charity which will endorse the application and accept the grant on its behalf
Accounts for the Charity and a budget for the proposed project should be available
If the application is dependent upon the employment of personnel, the funds will not be released until such an appointment is made
Once a donation is approved, the Trust requires feedback within the first year and further reports annually, if relevant. Failure to provide this information may result in the donation having to be returned
YOUR APPLICATION IS UNLIKELY TO BE SUCCESSFUL IF IT:
Consists of core funding and/or salaries
Involves animal welfare or heritage
Comes from an individual, including students
Is a general appeal from large national organisations
Is from organisations concerning themselves with poverty in the UK
