Establishing a GEX Connection with DLA Transaction Services

In order to receive data from GEX, a connection must be established with DLA Transaction Services. Before a connection can be established, the Interface Control Agreement must be completed. All organizations (Government or Commercial) must complete this Agreement. Agreement document is included in Appendix A.

The following are the instructions for connecting to DLA Transaction Services.

Required Documents:

There are two documents needed from your organization: the connection Agreement draft and your security/Information Assurance (IA) documentation.

a)Please fill out and return the connection Agreement as a Word Doc. Please don’t sign the Agreement document.

b)The documented proof of security should answer the question(s): “Is your Company secure? Why?” The proof of security must have a signature and date of signature.

The security documentation should provide proof that there are security controls in place for the system DLA Transaction Services is communicating with. Different companies have their own ways of proving security. Here are the most common examples of proof of security documentation:

•Company may have issued a signed and dated memo/statement that states your company has security. This document describes/lists the security controls that your company uses to prevent malicious attacks – physical and IT, etc. Also mention if you’re following industry standards for physical security and IT security.

•Company may provide their actual IT security plan.

•Company may have received a security accreditation/certification that was performed by a third party auditor.

Lastly, the system security documentation must have a signature and the date of signature. The signature block of the person signing the security documentation should be typed and appear directly beneath the signature.

Process:

1.Once the security/IA documentation and the unsigned Agreement draft has been received, it will be submitted to the DLA Transaction Services managers for approval. The approval process may take up to four+ weeks. If they approve the Agreement, the DLA Transaction Services Director will sign it.

2.The Agreement will be returned to you for your signature. Once it is signed on your end, please return a copy for DLA Transaction Services records.

3.The DLA Transaction Services EDI team should begin working on your connection.
