Policy
RoxFM aims to present a diverse range of community radio programs which will extend our listeners’ range of interests and experiences, consistent with our organisational mission and objectives.
RoxFM: will:
- Emphasise and encourage Australian content in terms of composition and production, in particular locally produced and presented music.
- Present a clear and identifiable station image
- Endeavour to reveal insights into the social and cultural aspects of our community, especially with reference to the diverse multicultural nature of our broadcast community.
All programming on RoxFM will abide by the Community Broadcasting Association’s Codes of Practice, as well as relevant (if any) legal restraints.
RoxFM requires that all current and prospective presenters be financial members of RoxFM.
The Programming Committee, which is a sub-committee of the Board of Management, and will consist of the Station Manager, a presenter representative and a Board of management representative, will be appointed annually.
Prospective presenters must be prepared to undergo appropriate and adequate training and induction procedures and to prove themselves competent in these procedures.
The decision as to whether a prospective new program will be suitable for broadcast on RoxFM will rest with the Programming Committee. Issues around a suitable timeslot and possible duplication of existing programming will also be considered by the Programming Committee.
RoxFM will not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, sexuality, race, political persuasion or gender.
RoxFM aims to maintain the highest possible standards of presentation and production, whilst allowing for the voluntary characteristics of the station’s processes.
Clear and appropriate warnings will be broadcast before any offensive language or material is broadcast.
Presenters breaching this Programming Policy will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.
