Dear Athlete,

This letter is to inform you of developments that hopefully will culminate in an exciting and challenging 2012 XCR season for yourself personally and for the Ballarat Regional Athletic Centre.

You have probably heard the rumors that there will be a combined Ballarat Cross Country team for the 2012 XCR season and this letter is to confirm the fact.

What will it mean to you? It will mean that you will always be in a team for individual races and in most cases; you will be in a relay team for AV Relay events. Ballarat has always had a proud tradition of producing fine distance runners. The BRAC team will mean that our Elite men and women runners will be able to compete at the highest levels in relay events this will also take the pressure off individual clubs having to filling numbers of teams for individual events.

How will it affect you? It has been decided that to be eligible to be selected for an AV XCR relay event that you must compete in the BRAC event that will be conducted a week prior. While every effort should be made to run the BRAC races for selection, extenuating circumstances will be considered on their individual merits. You must fill out an availability form and the selection committeewill decide whether you are still eligible for selection. The selectors will then be able to select teams from the available athletes. A copy of the selection policy is attached to this letter.

For individual events it is highly recommended that you should purchase a seasons ticket. If you are just going to enter just a few events you will do as you have done before and either enter via your club or online. Each BRAC Club has a couple of nominated people who you will be able to ask questions of if you are not sure of any process.

What will you wear? BRAC has had a new uniform designed by 2XU and this will be available at the Information / Uniform Launch Night on Thursday 19th April between 5pm - 6:30pm. The cost will be $30 ($15 for singlet $15 for shorts).

The AV XCR season commences on 21/4/12 with the Cross Country Relays at Jells Park. Selections for this event will be made on current form and whether you have made yourself available.

We urge you to embrace the concept and let us all get together to build a BRAC team that we will all be proud to represent.
