Title 5 Review, Part 2-Proposed Revisions to Chapter 6:update by Ralph Black and Carole Bogue-Feinour
Carole and Ralph went over the proposed revisions to Chapter 6. There are a number of concerns with different areas of the revisions and they will be taken back to the System Advisory Committee on Curriculum for further review. Carole requested that members of Consultation put any changes they would like to see in the regulations in writing.
Governmental Relations: update by Marlene Garcia and Anne McKinney
Marlene went through the legislative bills that Consultation Council has been watching. Marlene also went over positions that the Board and System Office has taken on bills. Consultation expressed concerns about college textbook legislation (AB 1548 and SB 832).
Anne McKinney reported that tuition sensitivity has been eliminated.
Consultation Task Force on Assessment: update by Mark Wade Lieu
Mark went over the recommendations that will be presented to the Board at the November meeting. Members of Consultation provided feedback to Mark about the recommendations. There will be a final discussion/review at the October 18th Consultation meeting.
Accreditation Committee
John Romo who represents the CEOCCC on the Consultation Council asked if anyone thought that it would be a good idea to have a chat with the accreditation committee. Members of Consultation stated that there was no faculty or system input on the accreditation standards. It was also recommended that the System Office create a BCP (Budget Change Proposal) to ask for more resources to help colleges come into compliance with accreditation standards.
