POSITION SUMMARY:
FLEX High School of Michigan is searching for a caring, passionate, and collaborative school leader who believes that all students can learn and succeed. Our mission is to engage opportunity youth and provide a safe environment, a personalized learning program, and college and career readiness within a flexible weekly schedule.ThePrincipal is the key stakeholder in ensuring all students and staff participate in building a culture of mutual respect so that each learner is able to explore and prepare their own story of success in earning a high school diploma and positively serving the community. The Principal servesastheAdministratoroftheirdesignatedschool(s)andisresponsibleforthe directionoftheinstructionalprogram,overallmanagementandoperationoftheschool(s) andrelatedfacilities.Thisincludesthesupervisionofallcertifiedandclassifiedemployeesassignedto serveintheschool(s).

- Providesleadershiptoallstaffinpromoting thevision andmission ofthecharterschool.
- Providesguidance,supervisionandassistanceininstructionalpracticesandcurriculumdevelopmentthatisresponsive totheacademicandculturalneedsofthestudentpopulation,includingEnglishLanguageLearnersandSpecialEducationstudents.
- Providesleadershipforandfacilitatescollaborationwithall stakeholderson identifyinggoalsforstudentachievement;developstheSchoolImprovementPlan; assesses progresstowardmeetingthegoals
- Supervisesandevaluatestheperformanceofallassignedcertified andclassifiedpersonnel;providescounselingandassistance,recommendsappropriateactionincasesofsubstandardperformances,andidentifiesandencouragesindividualteacherswithleadershippotential
- Counselsstudents,recommends,and implementsstudentdisciplinaryactions inaccordancewith theMichigan Revised School Code,CharterSchoolpolicy,andprocedures,andtheschool'sstudentresponsibilitycode.
- Maintainsaschoolclimatethatensuresthesafety,health,and welfareofstudentsandpersonnel;organizesandimplements a"School SafetyPlan";complies withmandatedchildabusereportingprocedures.
- Provideseffectiveprofessionaldevelopmentandtrainingforallstakeholderstoimprovestudentachievementandbuildcapacityofteacherstoimprove teachingservicesto students
- Collaborateswithmanagementstafftostafftheschoolproperly
- Monitorsstudentassignments andteachercaseloads accordingtoschoolpolicies
- Carries outaprogramof communityoutreachand parentsupportasa meansofcommunicatingandstrengtheningtheschoolprogram
- Collaborateswithoperationsstafftomonitorcompliancewithattendanceprocedures,andaudits.
- Plans,organizes,andconductsschoolextra-curricularactivitiesandevents.
- Ensuresadherencetofederalandstatelaws,reporting requirementsandmaintenanceofschoolplans
- Makesperiodicappraisalsofpupilprogressanddirectsreportstoparents
- Plans,coordinatesandreviewstheworkofLeadershipTeam
- Servesasassignedoncommittees
- Performsotherdutiesasassigned

- Knowledgeofcurriculum,includinghighly developedcompetenciesinatleastonecontentarea
- Knowledgeofon-line/virtuallearningplatforms
- Abilitytousetechnology;softwareapplicationsfordatacollectionandanalysis
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
- ValidMichigan Administrator’scertificate
- ValidMichigan Teachingcertificate
- 3 yearsofsuccessfulexperienceinan administrativeorsupervisoryposition,oneyearofwhichmusthavebeenina school-basedassistantprincipallevel position.
- 3 yearsteachingexperienceatsecondary level
- Master'sDegreeoradvancedstudyinthefieldof education,includingtheareasofadministration, supervision,andcurriculumdevelopmentfromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversity preferred.
- Satisfactory Live Scan fingerprinting and background check clearances
