Job Purpose:Inline with the overall Communications and Marketing strategy, work with the Digital Marketing Executive to develop and maintain digital activities for corporate and recruitment campaigns to support an innovative and sector leading digital first approach to marketing.
Working across a full mix of digital channels, write, edit and facilitate the production of high quality customer focused digital content that provides opportunities for engagement and relationship building with key stakeholders. Assist in the use of data to measure, refine and constantly improve upon all activities.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities (6-10 bullet points maximum)
1. Undergraduate (UG) recruitment and conversion
- Support the Digital Marketing Executive in the implementation and maintenance of digital marketing activities within the UG recruitment and conversion campaign – this will include online advertising, email campaigns/CRM, social, web, video and event support.
- Contribute ideas to develop the UG recruitment campaign utilising digital tools and channels.
- Support the implementation of the UG campaign visual identity to all centrally managed digital channels and assist colleagues in the integration across locally managed digital channels.
- Support the Digital Marketing Executive and the CRM Manager to develop CRM activity to support the recruitment and conversion campaign. Using strong digital writing and editing skills, ensuring the timely delivery of all content required to carryout agreed CRM activities.
- Deputise for the Digital Marketing Executive at the UG campaign working group, ensuring the group is proactively updated with progress on digital activities.

2. Social media marketing strategy and campaigns
- Develop and implement content plans that support the Social Media strategy.
- Support the Digital Marketing Executive in the management of University social channels, including conflict resolution.
- Proactively put forward ideas to develop the University’s social media offering inline with the strategy.
- Carry out constant evaluation of the external social landscape, identifying innovative solutions for implementation to the University’s social offering.
- Assist colleagues in maintaining their locally managed social channels, to support the overall strategy.
3. Corporate advertising, display, email, paid search and profiles
- Work with the Digital Marketing Executive to implement online advertising plans for corporate campaigns.
- Gather data and information to support the analysis and refinement of online advertising campaigns.
4. Project management
- Use strong project management skills and techniques to deliver all core responsibilities and supporting projects.
- Proactively work with members of the team and stakeholders across the University to ensure an integrated approach to the development of all digital communications.
- Work with external agencies and suppliers where required.
5. Blog management
- Support the Digital Marketing Executive in the recruitment and management student writers for centrally managed blog.
- Carry out the monthly editing of blog entries submitted to the centrally managed blog.
6. Brand guidelines
- Contribute to the development of the brand in digital channels. Advise and guide colleagues in the implementation of the brand in digital channels.
7. Ad hoc projects
- Assist with University wide/departmental digital projects as required by the Head of Digital, reflecting the needs of Communications and Marketing and the brand as part of the overall Communications and Marketing strategy.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
Relevant NVQ 3/HNC/A-level/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification or experience
Relevant degree
Recognised qualification in marketing
Experience of working in a digital marketing role
High level of competence in both written and spoken English.
Experience of working with the digital marketing channels including, web, social, advertising, email campaigns and event support.
Experience of working with CRM systems and developing CRM campaigns to generate enquiries and influence conversion.
Demonstrable experience of writing creative, high quality, customer focused digital content for a wide range of audience groups across web, social and email.
Experience of working with brand and delivering content to emphasise brand values and principles.
Experience of editing digital content to meet the needs and add value to specific channels.
Experience of using data and analytics to inform, measure and refine digital marketing activities.
Experience of managing social media channels including issue resolution.
