Things to bring on the trip
- A POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!!! This trip is a voluntary venture and is designed to be both educational and enjoyable for all. Do not infringe on others space. If you don’t like something or someone, keep it to yourself! Don’t jeopardize someone else’s experience.
- If you are bringing radios, players, etc., make sure you have headphones. Others might not want to be a part of the audition process for the next American Idol. Again, be respectful of others space.
- Professionalism and Self-discipline. Conduct yourselves with the highest amount of professionalism and self-control while on the trip, whether it be on the bus, at the hotel, or at the festival. YOUR individual behavior is a DIRECT reflection on everyone else that is from Hershey Choirs and our school district.
Concert attire for the trip is black pants on bottom, black polo shirts and robe ensemble. This means all black shoes and socks, too!!! No Exceptions. Students will not perform at Roxbury if this procedure is not followed!!!
- One suitcase. Due to space restrictions, each person will be allowed one suitcase on the trip. If you want to take a carry-on/back pack on the bus, that is OK. Remember you have to also fit on this bus. Keep in mind we are only going for three days. Check the weather and plan your wardrobe accordingly. Bring comfortable shoes for walking in the city.
- Snacks. Talk with your roommates and see what you want to have on hand in your room/bus for snacks.
- Movies. We will have a video bus. Bring movies that are PG-13 or milder. Chaperones will make judgement calls on appropriateness of videos. No whining!
- Money. A fast food meal in the NYC goes for about 8-10 dollars. If you plan on eating at a more formal restaurant, you might want to bring additional funds. You are financially responsible for the following meals on the trip. Lunch and dinner Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Plan accordingly. Also, you might want to buy things for family, friends while in NYC.
- Camera. You might want to take pictures. Of course, none of you have cameras anymore. You use your cell phones.
- Toiletries. Need I say more…Personal Hygiene is of the up most importance. Bring deodorant!!
Things not to bring
- ANYTHING that is not allowed in school. That means drugs, alcohol, or tobacco.
This is a school trip. All rules apply at all times!!! Failure to comply with these rules will result in dismissal from the trip, at your parents’ expense.
- Things/behaviors that will bother other people on the trip. Don’t go there.
- Anything that is valuable that you wouldn’t want stolen or misplaced. Leave your latest electronic gadgets at home. To be safe, keep anything valuable on your person at all times.
