The Board of Directors of the SAISD Foundation and the members of the INSPIRE AWARDS Selection Committee are seeking nominations of outstanding SAISD alumni as well as individuals and organizations that have had a significant impact on SAISD schools, students or the SAISD community for possible selection as an INSPIRE AWARD winner. The mission of the INSPIRE AWARDS is to celebrate SAISD Alumni, Friends and Teachers who are making a significant difference in education or their respective fields. These individuals and organizations will be selected not only for what they have done, but for their ability to inspire others through their individual and collective achievements. This honor will be given annually at the INSPIRE AWARDS event each fall and will be awarded in the following four categories:
EXCELLENCE AWARD - This is an SAISD alumnus* who has built upon his or her educational experience to demonstrate excellence in his or her profession.
INNOVATION AWARD - This is an SAISD teacher** who has used novel concepts, approaches, methodologies, tools, or technologies to increase the academic achievement and success for his or her students.
LEADERSHIP AWARD – This is an SAISD alumnus* who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills which have resulted in significant advancements in his or her field of work or the community at large.
SERVICE AWARD - This is a Friend of SAISD(an individual, business, or agency) and/or SAISD Alumnus who has made a notable impact on students, schools, or the community within SAISD and beyond.
All awardees will receive a $1,000 gift which will be donated to the high school they attended in their name. Teachers honored in the area of INNOVATION, and any Rising Stars recognized in any category receive a $500 personal gift and $500 is donated to their school.
*An SAISD alumnus is an individual who graduated from an SAISD high school and who, in deed and action, reflects and recognizes the importance of his or her education in SAISD.
** A current teacher in an SAISD school. A listing of all schools in SAISD can be found at
