ZERO DEFECT ZERO EFFECT (ZED) REGISTRATION CAMP
April… , 2018
District/Location Name, Manipur
An awareness and registration camp is being organised by Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Manipur, in association with the ZED division of Quality Council of India (QCI) on April…, 2018. The aim is to make aware the MSMEs of the region on the ZED Certification Scheme of Government of India and guide them to register for the same. Participation and Registration for ZED is free for MSMEs.
In order to enhance the competitiveness of Indian MSMEs and make India a global manufacturing hub, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the “Financial Support to MSMEs in ZED Certification Scheme” of Ministry of MSME, Government of India. QCI has been nominated as the National Monitoring & Implementing Unit for this scheme. The ZED Maturity Assessment Model was conceived by QCI, along with other stakeholders, after Shri Narendra Modi's clarion call to the MSMEs of India to ensure Zero Defect practices in their manufacturing and also ensure Zero Effect on the environment while manufacturing.
Objective of this initiative is to propagate "RESPONSIBLE MANUFACTURING" amongst the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of India. ZED is a unique & holistic certification model for MSMEs, that will create awareness, assess, rate and handhold them, based on 50 well defined parameters of production, design, quality, safety, environment etc., with special focus on the Defense sector.
The ZED Model, will assist the MSMEs to gradually build their capacities and reach the desired level of competence in a structured manner. This model will gauge the manufacturer’s maturity on various parameters (of quality & environment) and help to identify the areas of improvement and in a strategic manner raise the levels to excellence. Over a period of time, ZED aims to enhance the competitiveness of Indian MSMEs and taking India a step closer to becoming a manufacturing hub of the world. The ZED Certified companies would be seen as MSMEs with difference.
As we are aware, the micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) constitute over 90% of total enterprises in most of the economies and are credited with generating the highest rates of employment growth and account for a major share of industrial production and exports. The MSMEs have been accepted as the engine of economic growth and for promoting equitable development.
All manufacturing MSMEs are invited along with their UAM/EM-II/SSI certificate, valid email id & mobile number to participate and registered under the ZED certification scheme.
