TCTA BURSARY FOR 2018
TCTA is a state owned entity based in Centurion. It is a specialised liability management body for bulk water supply development in the most cost-effective manner to the benefit of the water consumer. In line with the Extended National Skills Development Strategy III, and in an effort to contribute to the broader skills development agenda and economic development of the county, TCTA offersten (10) exciting bursary opportunities for academically deserving students from previously disadvantaged background. Requirements for applicants
- They must be South African Citizen with a valid South African Identity Document
- They must be unemployed youth below 35 years of age with no bursary/ sponsorship
- They must have a National Senior Certificate with university entrance, having passed all subjects with at least 60% grade and above.
- They must be accepted at University if not already studying.
- If already studying full time at Tertiary Institution, they must have obtained an average grade of 65% and above on all major subjects
- Parents and/ or close relatives of applicants may not be employees of TCTA
- Parents income must be below R 350000. 00 per annum (before tax)
Recommended Field of Study:
The following field of study are considered for funding:
- Finance/ Accounting /Commercial or related numerate Degree (x 1 Bursaries)
- BSc or BEng in Civil/ Electrical (Controls & Instrumentation)/Mechanical/Chemical (x4 Bursaries)
- BSc in Environmental Science/Environmental Management/Environmental Law(x1 Bursary)
- Legal, Risk and Compliance
BursaryConditions:
Preference during selection will be given to:
- Previously disadvantaged individuals(i.e. females, Africans, coloureds, and Indians)
- People with Disabilities
- People who resides in communities close to the TCTA project sites.
Bursaries will be allocated on the basis of a balanced consideration of the following factors:
- Academic performance
- Race and gender
- Need of TCTA in reference to the specific qualification
TCTA will endeavour to place students who will successfully obtain their qualifications through the bursary scheme, within the community of TCTA, on a two (2) year internship/and or learnership programme, depending on the availability of opportunities within the business.
The bursary assistance will be given on a year-to-year basis and will be renewed based on academic performance.
Bursary Provision:
The bursary make provision for the following expenses annually:
- Full University tuition fees including registration;
- Accommodation,
- Residence meals,
- PrescribedBooks and/or Stationary, and
- Monthly allowance.
Documents to be submitted with the application:
The following documents are compulsory and must be submitted with applications. Should any of the documents not be included, the application will be considered incomplete and will therefore not be considered.
- Certified copy of ID
- If you are in your first year at tertiary include a certified copy of Grade 12 results and if you are already studying include your previous academic results
- Proof of admission or acceptance letter from recognised tertiary institution
- Fee structure (Quotation, Account statement or invoice from institution), books and residence costs.
- Parents/guardian’s proof of income/ Affidavit (if unemployed), and certified ID copies
- Motivation letter for application
Selection Process:
Received applications will be screened against the set criteria, andonly short-listed learners will be contacted for verification and interviews.
Should you not hear from TCTA 30 days from the closing date, then consider your application unsuccessful.
