You will notice that there are many COR Advantage items above that can be incorporated with this song and interactive song card. Of course this can only happen if the adults do more than teach just the words to the song. These in-depth discussions can sometimes be more beneficial when done individually or in small groups than large groups.
To prepare the song card, punch a single hole at the top and bottom of the gutter pipe and through the attached spider. Put yarn or string through the spider and holes and tie in the back of the song card. (see picture on p. 3) Children manipulate the spider up and down during the song according to the words being sung.
The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout,
Down came the rain and washed the spider out!
