·  Pencil/Pen

·  Math Textbook

Grading Scale:
Classwork/Homework/Warm-Ups.... 30%
Quizzes/Tests/CFA’s/Final Exam..…70% / Grading Scale:
90-100% = A
80-89 % = B
70-79 % = C
69.99% = D
Lower than 69.99% = FAIL

Assignments:

All work done must show the steps/work, in order to get full credit points. I make assignments usually worth 5 points.

Test and Quizzes:

You will have a chapter test at the end of chapters and at times, quizzes towards the middle of a chapter. CFA’s (Common Formative Assessments) will also be counted as test/quiz grades. The tests and quizzes are a big part of your grade as you will notice in the grading scale. Therefore, it is important that you take tests/quizzes seriously and study on a regular basis.

Cheating: Cheating includes copying someone’s work, in any way, shape, or form is not acceptable and will result in ZERO POINTS for all students found to copy and the individual that allowed the copying. Neither person will be allowed to makeup this grade.

Classroom Expectations:

§  Arrive with the required materials for this class.

§  No talking during warm-ups/lessons/tests/ quizzes.

§  Remain in assigned seat. (e.g. no lining up at the door / roaming about the room)

§  Be in your assigned seat before the bell rings, or you will be marked TARDY.

§  Electronics need to be off, put away and not taken out once inside the classroom.

§  Doing work for another class is not allowed while in the classroom.

Consequences for not complying with classroom expectations:

After warning, the student can expect at least one of the following consequences:

§  After school detention.

§  A call home.

§  Visit to Dean’s Office/SLC

§  If these consequences are ineffective or behavior does not improve, then I will arrange for a parent conference.

Attendance/Make-up work/ Extra Credit:

The class moves on even when you are absent, and it is your responsibility to catch up whenever you miss any class time. This means, come to me before school or during lunch to find out what was missed when you were absent. Make-up work or extra credit work will NOT be given at any time during the semester, no exceptions. If you know ahead of time that you are going to be absent for 5 consecutive school days or more and you are requesting work for this time, your request to me must be 1 week prior to being absent.

Seating:

All students must be seated according to the seating chart. Mr. Dominguez may change your ASSIGNED seat at any time, and as many times as he feels needed. Students must be in their assigned seat, ready to work before the tardy bell rings.

Electronics:

Electronics must be off or not visible and must be put away once in the classroom. If I see it, it will get taken away, and your parent/guardian will be the only one it will be returned to by the MAIN OFFICE.

Use of hall pass:

Leaving the classroom is not allowed the first 10 or last 10 minutes of class. Only one student can leave the classroom at a time using the hall pass. Do not leave the room when the teacher is lecturing, teaching, talking, and/or giving directions. Be aware that you are missing instruction when you are out and this generally lowers your grade as a result. Therefore, use it at your own risk. Misuse of hall pass will result in loss of that privilege.
