Writing Homework Tasks:

You will need to read each week. You can read a newspaper, magazine, short story, information book, website or a chapter of a chapter book.

You need to read something new each week and choose a task to complete.

You need to choose each task once before you can repeat one.

For homework each week you have a choice of tasks:

1)Pretend to interview the author or a character. Ask them 5 questions you would like to find out and write what you think their answers might be.

2)Draw a map of what you have read, for example: the places your character went and what they did while they were there.

3)Write a poem about a character, a place, a fact or an event in what you have read. This should be half a page long.

4)Write a summary of what you have read, this should be half a page long. Only include important facts.

5)Draw up a brainstorm of the information you have learnt.

6)Imagine you are the author, write an extra paragraph for your story. You can choose to put it in the beginning, middle or end of your text.

7)Write a new ending to your story, or if you have not finished reading write what the ending might be.

Every Friday you will need your tasks finished for share time.
