Childhood Ministries Childcare Policy

Childcare is provided on an ongoing basis for the following church ministries (ages vary depending on event).

·  Sunday Morning Worship Service (rotation scheduled staffed with volunteers)

·  Wednesday Evening Services

·  Sunday Evening Services

·  Church-wide Services and Programs

·  Church Approved Daytime Bible Studies (must meet the criteria of an event listed below).

·  Committee and Team Meetings held during times when care is already available. Those needing childcare, must contact the Childhood Associate no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting to guarantee a spot. Meetings scheduled on Sunday prior to the Sunday evening service require a two week notice.

Criteria for Childcare Events:

·  Childcare is requested on the Calendar Request Form at the time the event is put on the calendar.

·  Childcare request is approved by the Children’s Minister.

·  Childcare rooms are supervised by at least two background checked and approved adult workers.

·  A minimum of seven children is required for a childcare event.

·  Childcare will be provided for a maximum of four hours.

·  When a meal is served to the children in care, the cost of the meal comes from the event budget line.

·  An expected number of children is required at the time of the request so an adequate number of workers are provided.

·  Reservations are required for childcare provided outside of regular scheduled days and times. A deadline for reservations will be given to the ministry leader in charge of event. Advertising of childcare ages and deadline is the responsibility of the event host and should be included when advertising the event.

We do not provide Childcare for:

·  Parties and fellowships outside the scheduled times

·  Church-wide Fellowships

·  Meetings for small groups or committees/teams that meet outside of regular scheduled programs

·  Weddings

·  Non-church groups

·  Funerals. In the event childcare is needed for a funeral, the church and/or childhood ministry does not provide or enlist the childcare workers but will allow the use of the facility if the following criteria are met:

·  A 24 hour notice is given

·  Approved workers with a background check on file are used

·  Rooms are cleaned according FBCM standards

Because of health and safety reasons and the need to keep our facilities cleaned and prepared for our ongoing programs, rooms may not be used for childcare unless it is an approved childcare event.
