Magnetic-impulse plants IM in drying spray systems
Research and production enterprise ‘MITEK’, Ltd ( Nikolaev) has been specializing in the field of magnetic-impulse engineering and is the leading designer and producer of magnetic-impulse plants of IM TU U3.01.-19289902-170-98 type designed for prevention from collapse of bridging and cleaning of metal hoppers and other metal surfaces from adhered substances.
Method of cleaning, device to perform it as well as trade mark MITEK® are registered in patent authorities of Ukraine and Russia (Patent of Russia №2153403, Patents of Ukraine №44783, №28666, №28667, №28820, №29040, №39269,№37190, №37191. Certificate for the trade mark №17417, №97672, №7375.Quality of magnetic-impulse plants IMis confirmed by the certificate of identification Ukrsepro (UA1.081.0090941-06).
In 2008 plants got Certificate of identification of CE on Directives of security and electromagnetic compatibility.
Products of RPE “Mitek” were appropriated with the Sign of quality “The Highest Test” and an enterprise was awarded with the diploma “Ukraine-the best enterprisers” and is the laureate of competition “Metal-progress-2005” in a nomination “The Best innovation in area of production”.
Since 1993 an enterprise “MITEK” has produced and introduced nearly 350magnetic-impulse plants on different enterprises of Ukraine, Russia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Slovakia. Among them there are metallurgical combines of “Azovstal”, “ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih”, “Zaporozhstal”, “U.S.Steel, s.r.o. Kosice”, Alchevsky MC, Dneprovsky MC, Enakyevsky MF, Donetsky MF, Zaporozhsky “Ukrgrafit” and “Abrasive combine”, Cherepovetsky “Ammofos”, “Vorkutaugol”, Mykhaylovsky MC, bakery integrated works of S.Petersburg, Kiev, Kharkov, Minsk, confectionaries of Lugansk, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, butter-cheese factories , milk plants, mixed fodders factories and other enterprises.
Alongside with other areas magnetic-impulse plants IM are successfully applied in drying spray systems. It is introduced more than 50 plants IM, used for clearing walls ofdrying chambers and cyclones in drying spray plants such marks as А1-ОРЧ, А1-ОР2Ч, А1-ОР2Ч-1000, А1-ОР3, Anhidro, etc.

Plants areimplemented and used successfullyat such enterprises as cheese plants in Mirgorod, Gadych, Akhtyrka,milk plants in Sumy, Litin, Kamenets-Podolsk, Mogilyov,Romny, Ruzhan, butter-cheese combines in Troitsk, settlementMamadysh, settlement Baltasi (Tatarstan) and others.
The structure of magnetic-impulse plant IM is the following ( fig.1): power block, control stand, control cable, high-voltage coaxial cables, complete set of executive mechanisms ( inductor and stalealuminum plate), connecting boxes.

A power block is made as dust- and moisture-proof closet and intended for forming of powerful impulses of current. The battery of condensers is used as an impulsive energy source.
A power block (fig. 2) consists of charge device (CO), capacity store of energy (SE), block of thyristor switchboards (TS), control and defence systems. A power block is made multichannel, besides one or two executive mechanisms can be connected through connecting boxes and high-voltage coaxial cable to every channel. An executive mechanism consists of inductor and stalealuminum or stalecopper plate. A control stand (CS) is connected to the power block through the control cable.

Installations IM are divided into types according to the size of maximal working voltage: IM1 - to 1000V, IM2 - to 2000V, IM3 - to 3000V, IM4 - to 4000V, IM5 - to 5000V.

The scheme of equipment of drying chambers and cyclones by magnetic-impulse system of clearing on the basis of plant IM is shown on fig. 4.

Collapse of adhered material is carried out as follows ( fig.5):

Thestalealuminum plateis attached to a wall of the chamber (cyclone) from the external side. Opposite the plate the inductor is fixed on the rigid basis with a small air clearance (2-5 mm) concerning a plate.
The power block generates a powerful impulse of a current in a winding of inductor. The magnetic field of inductor created by this current, induces an impulse of a current in a plate. As a result of interaction of the pulse currents proceeding on a winding of inductor and induced in a plate, the plate renders pulse mechanical influence on a cleared wall that leads to occurrence of local elastic deformation in a cleared surface, and in thickness of the adhered material – to occurrence of voltage shift. Joint action of these processes breaks integrity of the adhered material, destroys adhesion of a material to a cleared surface and leads to collapse of a material.
Force of mechanical influence and quantity of impulses are adjustable and chosen sufficient for guaranteed collapse of adhered materials.
The plants of type IM1, IM2 are usually used for magnetic-impulse systems of walls’ clearing of drying chambers and cyclones. The technical characteristics are resulted in fig.6:

For each type of drying spray systems the necessary quantity of executive mechanisms of plantsIM is defined.
For example, in adryingsystem A1-OРЧthe plant ИM1-1,2-11 with allocation of six executive mechanisms on a drying chamber and five on cyclones, one mechanism on each cyclone is applied (fig. 6).

In a dryingsystem VRA-4 having 3 cyclones, a plant ИM2-1,2-9 (on two executive mechanisms in the channel) with allocation of six executive mechanisms on a cylindrical part of drying chamber and six executive mechanisms on a cone part is recommended. 2 mechanisms are installed on each cyclone (fig. 7).

The long-term practice of operation of plants IMМIТEК® at the various enterprises testifies to higher efficiency of a magnetic-impulse way of walls’ clearing of drying chambers and cyclones in comparison with traditionally applied pneumatic-and electromechanical hammers.
Besides,magnetic-impulse plantsare economic in operation since magnetic-impulse technologies are inherently power-saving.
Absence in executive mechanisms of plants IMМITEК®соbeating, rotating and rubbing parts, presence of the fulfilled manufacturing techniques of inductors, application of original circuit decisions and modern element base, and also presence of a lot of protection against supernumerary operating modes provide high reliability and durability of system of magnetic-impulse collapse of the stuck materials.
Service life of plants IM according to TY У3.01-19289902-170-98 - is not less than 10 years.
At timely repair-preventive maintenance term of operation is much longer.
In view of features of technological process the functioning of plants IM is possible both in manual and in automatic modes, with various algorithms of inclusion in work in interface to the modern automated control systems ( ACS) of technological processes.
Design IP54 and contactless impulse influence on a wall of the hopper provides an opportunity of application of plants IMМITEК® in premises of the raised danger.
