That is one out of every five children. Or, you can donate gently worn jeans for a male or female living at the Big Oak Ranch. Assist the Alabama FCCLA in making a difference in a child’s life through your donations. The time of the parade will be indicated in your registration packet and announced at the conference.

Dress Policy-The FCCLA State Leadership Conference is an excellent opportunity for members to convey to others the positive, professional image of FCCLA. The FCCLA official blazer is always appropriate and STRONGLY encouraged. Members are also encourage to follow the National FCCLA dress code. You may view the guidelines at the following link: Appropriate dress includes slacks and dress shirts for males; dresses, skirts, blouses, and dress pants for females. Jeans, warm-up suits, and T-shirts are not appropriate attire. Nightwear (pajamas) should not be worn outside of your hotel room. Shoes should be worn at all times. Advisers, please enforce the dress policy. Appropriate dress is a reflection on your school and of the state association; therefore, it is very important to show that our members are leaders. This year’s conference is being held in a formal setting. Members are expected to dress professionally. If your members are not appropriately dressed, it will be very noticeable by other members. Use this conference to teach your students how they should dress and behave when attending a formal activity in a Performing Arts Centre.

Code of Conduct-Enclosed is a copy of the “Alabama FCCLA Code of Conduct State Conference Rules.” We encourage you to read these rules to members and chaperones who attend the state conference. You may distribute copies of the rules to your members and have both member and parent(s) sign the code. These rules will be enforced. Please pay special attention to Rule #5. It is the adviser's responsibility to see that members attend sessions and do not socialize during presentations, make telephone calls, or text message during the sessions. Students are asked to remain in their seats during the sessions, unless there is an emergency. It is very distracting for speakers and participants when members leave their seats and have to be told to return to them. Students have been released from school to attend the conference and should be required to remain seated during the various sessions. Prior to the start of the first session, please require all in attendance to turn off cell phones and pagers.

Lodging-A listing of locations to lodge is provided in this packet. You will be responsible for making your own reservations. You should make reservations early. NOTE: Ask for a government or school rate when making reservations.

FCCLA Cookbooks-A Cookbook Order Formis included in your packet for cookbook preorders. Cookbooks can also be pre ordered and picked up at the State Conference at a reduced price. These are great gifts and fundraisers for your chapter. There will be a table at registration with cookbooks available.

Insurance Coverage-Again this year, we are providing insurance coverage for all delegates who are affiliated members. Only affiliated members are covered by this insurance.

Parking-Parking will be available near the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre for buses. Parking in the Montgomery Renaissance Hotel deck is available all day for $10.00.

Special Needs-The special needs request form is enclosed so that arrangements can be made to provide assistance to any member with special needs.

In Case of Emergency-Contacts can be made during the day by calling (334) 481-5110, Montgomery Performing Arts Centre.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS RELEASE IS THE ONLY GENERAL INFORMATION YOUR CHAPTER WILL RECEIVE REGARDING THE STATE CONFERENCE.
