Our class uses the color system below:

Staying on Track

You may have to switch rooms to “get back on track.”

·  Improve your behavior. She will move your clip up and let you know when to return to class.

AGENDA

1.  Copy homework in agenda.

2.  Put agenda in corner of your desk.

CURSIVE

3.  Practice your cursive while your teacher circulates the classroom. She will…

·  Check your cursive

·  Put a J in your agenda.

PACK-UP

WAIT! Your teacher will tell you when to stop working.

4.  Put away your cursive book and pencil.

5.  Pack your bookbag, and stack chair. Make the classroom is clean. Stand behind your desk and you may whisper talk with your table group.

6.  Put Strive for 5 on desk.

7.  Stop talking when announcements come on.

8.  Wait for teacher for dismiss you.

Morning Routine

1.  Unpack bookbag and hang in cubby.

·  Snacks/drinks for lunch go in top cubby.

·  Put agenda on desk.

·  Sharpen your THREE pencils

2.  Complete morning work independently at desk.

·  LOOK at Smartboard for morning message

·  Stop and listen when news comes on.

·  If you have a question, raise your hand

Homework

1.  Homework packets are assigned Monday. They are due every FRIDAY morning.

2.  You must have a parent signature on the front page when you turn in your homework packet.

3.  Place homework packets in the green bin by Mrs. Morrow’s desk

4.  If your homework is not done or returned, you will do it during recess the next week.

Indoor Recess

1.  Stay at desk, and your teacher will give you fun options for activities to do at your desk. You may move to the carpet only if you are given permission.

2.  You can talk with your classmates, but you must use a quiet voice.

Outdoor Recess

1.  Use friendly behavior.

2.  Use appropriate outside voice.

3.  No complaining about bugs, heat, or boredom.

4.  When teachers call, “4th Grade,” you line up quietly.

5.  Stop talking as soon as you get in line.

Cubbies and Desks

Cubbies

1.  Hang coat and bookbag.

2.  Food/drink for lunch go in top cubby.

3.  No personal toys, games, crayons, opened food, etc. can be stored in cubby.

4.  Only go to cubby three times each day:

·  In morning to unpack.

·  At lunch to get food/drink.

·  At dismissal to pack.

Desks

1.  Only the following items may be in your desk:

·  Notebooks

·  Classwork Folders

·  Cursive Notebook

·  Pencil pouch

2.  No personal supplies like extra markers or coloring books from home are allowed in school.

3.  Strive for 5 stays on the side of your desk. You may not play or fuss with Strive for 5 cards.

Pencils

1.  You should have THREE sharpened pencils in your pencil pouch at all times.

2.  When you arrive in the morning, you can use your pencil sharpener to sharpen your THREE pencils

3.  If a pencil breaks or becomes dull during the day, you may put it back in your pencil pouch and replace it with a sharp one.

4.  You may not use your pencil sharpener at any other time during the day.

5.  If you lose your pencil sharpener, come talk to Mrs. Morrow. You cannot borrow one from a friend.

6.  If you have an emergency and need a pencil, you can get one from the green pencil bucket.

Cafeteria

1.  When you are in the lunch line,

·  You may only use a whisper voice.

·  You may not touch anyone.

·  You may not get out of line.

2.  Five students enter the kitchen at a time.

3.  We say please when asking for food.

4.  We say thank you after getting food.

5.  We sit for the entire lunch period.

6.  We use good table manners and do not play with our food.

7.  After eating, we throw out our tray and return to our seat.

8.  If we need to go to the bathroom, we raise our hand and use the bathroom pass.

Buying Snacks

1.  Snacks can only be bought on Friday.

2.  You can buy one snack to eat and one snack to drink.

3.  You cannot buy extra snacks to take home or for other people.

Getting Water

1.  We get water only during water breaks given by teacher.

2.  You must go quickly and quietly to and from the water fountain.

Lining Up

1.  When it is time to go somewhere, wait to be called into line.

2.  The line leader will line up first.

3.  Always stay in your number order.

4.  If someone is in the wrong spot, you may say, “Excuse me, I think you got in the wrong spot.” You may not yell or push anyone.

5.  Please remember to stay right behind the person in front of you.

Walking in the Hall

1.  Be sure to walk in the hallway; you may not dance, run, skip, or jump.

2.  Be sure to keep your hands at your side.

3.  Stay in line order.

4.  Walk without talking, touching, or correcting anyone.

5.  Stop at every doorway.

6.  Do not touch walls or bulletin boards.

Bathroom

1.  You may not use the bathroom while your teacher is teaching

2.  If you need to use the bathroom during class, raise your hand.

3.  Use the bathroom quickly and quietly.

4.  Wipe the seat with toilet paper.

5.  Flush.

6.  Use one pump of sanitizer and rub your hands together or wash hands quickly.

7.  Return to seat quietly.

Computers

1.  Stay in assigned computer area.

2.  Do not unplug anything.

3.  Do not talk during computer time.

4.  Be trustworthy by staying on the website your teacher assigns.

5.  When finished, clean computer area by…

·  hanging headphones on monitor

Supplies

1.  Students share all supplies in the buckets.

* Exception: If a student has their own labeled

pair of scissors, only the owner may use them.

2.  Students must use all supplies correctly and with care.

3.  If students break supplies, a note will be sent home for students to replace it.

4.  All supplies must be returned to supply buckets.

5.  No supplies from the buckets can be put in desks or cubbies.

How to Participate:

Answering Questions

1.  Raise your hand.

2.  Wait to be called on.

3.  If you haven’t been called on, wait longer.

4.  If you start to get upset, take a deep breath.

5.  Do not call out, sigh, pout, or complain.

Participating

1.  Watch the speaker.

2.  Nod when you understand.

3.  Raise your hand if you want to add an idea.

4.  Raise your hand if you have a question.

Group Discussions

1.  Use your mouth and manners.

2.  If two people begin to talk at the same time, say, “Excuse me, you go ahead.”

1.  Stay on task and complete work.

2.  If you need help, ask someone in your group.

3.  If you need to ask the teacher a question, wait until she is circulating the room.

4.  Help others that need help.

5.  Do not interrupt the teacher’s group. Wait for the teacher to circulate room, or walk around room, before asking for help.
