DAY ONE

Join Lamers Bus Lines as we travel to Ohio’s Amish Country to learn and experience the various aspects of their seemingly simpler lives. We travel to Berlin, Ohio, the heart of the world’s largest Amish Community. We’ll spend the next four nights at the Comfort Suites in Berlin.

DAY TWOB

We start our exploration of Amish Country with a guided tour of the world’s largest Amish community, including the Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center, featuring the Behalt Cyclorama. Behalt illustrates the heritage of the Amish and Mennonite people from their beginnings in Zürich, Switzerland to the present day. From there we’ll go to the Farm at Walnut Creek, where we can explore a working farm with a variety of traditional and exotic animals. We’ll also visit Walnut Creek Cheese, a cheese and bulk foods store with a large selection. After dinner we’ll end our day at The Warther Museum, dedicated to Ernest “Mooney” Warther, a world-master carver.

DAY THREEB, L, D

Today we start out at the Wendell August Ohio Amish Country Store. We’ll learn about America’s oldest and largest forge, producing hand-wrought ornamental metalware and elegant giftware in aluminum and other metals since 1923. Afterwards, we’ll experience a delicious farm-to-table lunch and cooking demonstration. After lunch, we’ll visit Warther Cutlery to see unique knives, hand ground and polished. Then we’ll head to Broad Run Cheese and Swiss Heritage Winery before we have dinner at an Amish home.

DAY FOURB, D

Our first stop of the day is Hershberger’s Farm and Bakery. Hershberger’s Farm & Bakery features an amazing selection of baked goods, as well as a petting zoo, pony rides and a new antique farm store. We’ll then head to see Amish Homestead Furniture to see Amish craftsmen create beautiful pieces of furniture. Afterwards we’ll see another well-known Amish craft at Lehman’s General Store and Quilt Shop before learning how to make Ohio’s famous buckeye candies. We end our day with dinner at the delicious Farmstead Restaurant before returning to our hotel for one last night.

DAY FIVEB, L

Today we head back to our modern lives, leaving our wonderful Amish experiences in our memories. We say goodbye to our fellow travelers in a final included lunch at the Blue Gate in Shipshewana, Indiana.
