NSS Christmas Dress Up Day

Wednesday, December 14th is the NSS Christmas dress up day! Be sure to come to school in Christmas attire!

Christmas Snack Potluck

Tuesday, December 13th - set up during TA

All students and staff are asked to bring a snack (sweet or salty), baking items or beverage to share with entire school community on Tuesday, December 13. A table will be set up in the Student Gathering Area for TAs to enjoy and mingle after 20 minutes of reading. The table will remain set up until the end of lunch hour. Please participate in celebrating this joyous season at NSS. (Reminder - we are a peanut free location).

Homemade Hot Chocolate, Ice Coffee and Bath Bombs

Sales will be on December 8 on December 15 at lunch beside the cafeteria in the Markin MacPhail building. Proceeds will go to the Calgary Food bank and towards developing a prototype for a new invention; Bio Roots.

Homemade Hats and Hand Crafted Soy Wax Candles

Homemade hats and hand crafted soy wax candles are available for order every day at lunch. Order forms are available beside the posters in the school. All proceeds will go to the Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary. We are hoping to help people impacted by Alzheimer’s by donating the proceeds. These homemade items will make great gifts for mothers, family and loved ones. Thank you for helping us make this a success!

Injury Recovery Group

Are you injured, still recovering, getting frustrated. This group, led by Clare Fewster,will work together to learn various mental skills and strategies that might help you as you go through the recovery process. Meet in Room 118 on Wednesday, December 7. If you are not able to make it to the group, then feel free to meet with me on an individual basis.

Science Department

The Science department is looking for empty shoeboxes to make up lab kits. If you have bought any boots or shoes recently and are trying to figure out what to do with those empty boxes, bring them to school and drop them off with Mr. Finlay.

NSS Door Decorating

NSS door decorating will be taking place from Dec 1st-16th. TA’s are asking to decorate their door to celebrate the holiday season. Prizes will be given to the best dressed door!

NSS Candy Grams

NSS candy grams will be on sale from Dec. 5th to 12th. Send a holiday message and candy cane to your friend. Candy grams can be purchased in the student area starting December 5. – 2 for $1.00.

Yearbook

If you would like to help with the upcoming yearbook, please come to a meeting on Wednesday at lunch in room 119.
