Staffing

I am delighted to inform you that two new members of staff have recently been appointed to our school. Mrs Sarah Fenwick has taken up her post as a Teaching Assistant within Years 1 & 2. In addition to this, Miss Hayley Phillips will commence a new role as Class Teacher with Years 3 & 4 covering Mrs Hughes’ maternity leave. She will be in post commencing Monday 21st November.

Start of the school day

Thank you for your support in allowing the upper junior children to come into school independently. This has eased congestion significantly and assisted with the smooth running of the morning. However there are still a number of buggies being brought into school. For health and safety reasons parents are kindly requested to leave them outside the school building.

Football/ Mad Science Clubs

Both clubs will continue after half term. They are held every Monday after school and finish at 4.15pm. The final Mad Sciencesession will be held on Monday November 28th 2016.

Parking

There have been a number of complaints from local residents regarding parking outside of school. Please ensure that no cars are parked on the yellow lines and across driveways. Your co-operation in this matter would be much appreciated.

Active Kids

Thank you to everyone who supported the Active Kids project. We have now been able to purchaseseveral den-building kits and a wide range of additional outdoor equipment for all of the children.

Physical Education

Infants and Juniors should wear navy/black shorts with blue/white plain or school logo t-shirt and plimsolls/trainers. Your child’s PE kit MUST be on the premises everyday during term time to avoid not having their PE kit for their lesson which is part of the curriculum.

Water Bottles

Children are encouraged to have a bottle of water available to them throughout the day and are welcome to bring water to school. Please ensure your child’s/children’s name is clearly labelled onthe bottle as some children have identical bottles and this will help them identify their own. To prevent their work getting spoilt juice or carbonated drinks are not allowed at class time. This does not apply during the lunch hour.

HeadLice

To keep ahead of the headlice problem, we need to work together which really pays off. Children should have their hair checked at least once a week. To reduce the frequency of head lice outbreaks, if detected please treat before returning your child to school. This ensures a healthy environment for all our children.

IMPORTANT

Children MUST have a suitable warm coat to bring to school every day.

Safety First

To ensure your child’s safety please do not allow children to walk on the wall, climb the tree or climb onto the grey gas cubicle at the front of school.

Parents must inform staff of provisions they have made for their children to be taken home with other parents /children.

Children will remain at school if parents have not given clear instructions for their children’s care after a school day has ended. Your child informing their class teacher is not adequate. Please telephone in person or put it in writing.

Parent Evenings

Parents are invited to school to speak to their child’s Teacher on Tuesday 18th October and Wednesday 19th October. The visit will give you an indication of how your child has settled into the new term. Wrexham Family Information Service (WFIS) will also be in attendance to answer any questions you would like answered.

Harvest

Our Harvest Servicewill take place on Friday 21stOctober. The childrenwill entertain the people of Holt Village by singing songs they have been learning in class over the Autumn term. Shoe boxes for T4U

Children have a lot of fun making a shoe box whilst gaining an understanding of caring and kindness to someone less fortunate. The children who receive one have a small taste of the enriched life our children have.
