Why you enjoy coaching at Pfeiffer.

Pfeiffer University has always offered an excellent liberal arts program. What most don’t realize however is what it offers in addition to a top-notch well-rounded education; the opportunity to take full advantage of a “cycling mecca.”

What makes our student athletes different.

In a small school setting the teams are able to be close knit and act as a family. The dedication toward chosen sports can easily be seen all around campus. There is great pride among our athletes, especially the cycling team.

Why DII competition is great.

Don't let the size of the school and resources fool you. When a trained team hits the racing circuit it is all about putting that training to work and using all the skills and techniques learned. In the ACCC DII schools also compete against DI schools---and most of the time Pfeiffer has come out on top. As a DII school we go into a race knowing we are against larger teams but we never let that fact be used against us. We go to the start line to win !!

What is your favorite thing about the team.

Knowing that Pfeiffer is the only team in the conference with a certified coach sets us apart quickly. The team uses race tactics and straggles from the start. During the race it is a rush to watch the race unfold as we practiced and discussed how we will race. When the team functions as a team it is exciting to see Pfeiffer Cycling cross the finish line first.

What's your favorite thing about Pfeiffer.

The dedication of Dr. Ambrose ( a licensed racer himself) to see that a collegiate racing program becomes a force to be reckoned with. Having the support of the staff and faculty really means a lot to me. Being a varsity sport, giving cycling scholarships and building a nationally recognized program is a dream come true.

Why Pfeiffer

Pfeiffer has become a model for other colleges that want to develop varsity cycling programs.

Besides being in the middle of cycling paradise, Pfeiffer is the only school in the Atlantic Collegiate Cycling Conference (ACCC) to offer cycling as a varsity sport. There are only 13 universities in the nation to have cycling as a varsity sport.

The area, the weather, and the people on campus make this the place to be. As a cycling coach---it does not get better than this !!
