Welcome! MicNOVA(Model Investment Club of Northern Virginia) :
- Sponsored by the Fairfax County Public Library and the DC Regional Chapter of Better Investing, ( a non-profit organization dedicated to investor education.
- Consisting of directors with the local chapter of Better Investing
- Open to anyone in the DC metropolitan areawanting to observe how an investment club operates
- Welcomes participation during the stock studies and education sections of the meeting(only partners vote on motions made regarding stock actions or operational matters at the meetings).

Why do we have a modelinvestment club?
- To encourage existing investment clubs as well as the formation of new clubs.
- To demonstrate the Better Investment philosophy of investing.
- To provide a variety of educational programs related to investing.
- To demonstrate how an actual investment club operates and the value of participating in one.
- To acquaint visitors with the Chapter Directors who are available to support existing clubs and to help with the establishment of new clubs.
What role does a visitor have in this meeting?
- Participating during the stock studies and/or educational component.
- Learning the operations of an investment club
- Observing issues germane to the operation of an investment clubs: establishing a portfolio philosophy and conducting portfolio review; a buy/sell strategy; effective communications; etc.

How do I get my questions answered?
- Visitor Liaisons are available before 7:00 and after 8:30 to answer any questions
- Gather with club members after the meeting at Jason's Deli (located across the street from the Tyson's Pimmit Library on Leesburg Pike--in the Whole Foods Shopping Center)
Can I become a member of MicNOVA?
- Membership is open for those who have attended at least three meetings
- Filling out an application form located online at bivio under "Club Documents." A "Letter to Members" outlines the procedures. It is also recommended that prospective members read the Partnership Agreement and the Operating Procedures also located under club documents.
- All members must also be a member of Better Investing.
- Become familiar with the Stock Selection Guide either by taking a class or by using the online SSG tools at the Better Investing website
- After a vote on your membership by the existing club partners, sign the Partnership Agreement and pay at least the minimum amount for membership ($30/month).
Should I join MicNOVA?Only you can decide that after attending several meetings. Certainly, if you are not already in a club, you may want an actual experience of being in an investment club before starting your own. Members are welcome.
