District 6950 2016-2017 District Grants Selection Policies and Procedures
- Selection Criteria: If the sum of the value of all grants requests exceeds the available District Grant DDF for the 2016-2017 Rotary Year, applications will be evaluated using the following scoring system:
- A project will receive 2 points per 10% above the minimum 50% required from the club or clubs requesting the grant – maximum 10 points.
- 55 - 59% = 2 points
- 60 - 64% = 4 points
- 65 - 69% = 6 points
- 70 - 74% = 8 points
- 75% or more = 10 points
For example, if the total project requires $ 12,000 and the grant application request $ 5,000 in District funds, the percentage will be 58.33 (7,000/12,000) and the application will receive two points.
- A project will receive 1 point for every club participating and contributing a minimum of $250 - maximum 10 points for 10 or more clubs. Having written dollar amount commitments from a club constitutes a “participating” club. The written documentation does not have to be provided with the application but should be available if needed.
- A project will receive a maximum of 10 points if the issue of sustainability is addressed. 5 points will be awarded for a plan of sustainability that includes sources from outside of Rotary, and an additional 5 points will be awarded for a long-term sustainability plan that involves Rotarians in the applying group of clubs.
- A project will receive up to 5 points for a well thought-out multimedia Public Relations/Public Image (PRPI) campaign. News releases and social media posts are minimum requirements.
- A project will receive points for volunteer work hours projected for its completion – maximum 10 points. These will be hours supplied by Rotarian and non-Rotarian volunteers on the project. Not included are hours for persons compensated for labor, administrative hours spent researching project, filling out District Grant Application and Final Report and hours spent raising the Club’s matching $$.
- 25–50 hours = 1 point
- 51–100 hours = 2 points
- 101 – 200 hours = 4 points
- 201–300 hours = 6 points
- 301 – 400 hours = 8 points
- 400 or more hours = 10 points
- A project will receive 1 point for every $25 of the lead club’s per capita contribution toward the Annual Fund, including Polio Plus, in the preceding Rotary Year – maximum 10 points. For example:
If the lead club’s RY 2014-2015 contributions were $100 per capita, that club’s project would be awarded 4 points for a grant to be completed during RY 2016-2017.
