Anniversary celebration 2015 at GEZE
Festive appreciation of long-serving employees
It is a tradition that is maintained every year anew: once again, on 4 December 2015, the management honoured employees who have been with the company for 25 or 40 years. The event took place during a celebratory dinner at the DEKRA Club Restaurant Bischoff in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. This year, a total of 25 employees were honoured for their long-standing service, through which they made an individual contribution to the success of the door, window and safety technology specialists.
At a time that is moving at an ever-faster pace, such anniversary honour awards might be increasingly waived in many places, said Brigitte Vöster-Alber, the GEZE Chief Executive Officer. “As a family business, we maintain close contact with the workforce and therefore consciously take time for people who very much share in our success,” said the GEZE CEO. “Anyone who has worked in our company for so many years has undoubtedly helped fashion a role model function in it and been actively involved in the continuous development of GEZE,” said Brigitte Vöster-Alber. “We thank you all very much for this commitment and loyalty.”
There are also some employees with foreign roots among the honourees. They are a good example of how successful integration can be achieved in view of the current influx of refugees to Europe. “They all have one thing in common: the willingness to actively adjust to a new environment and to contribute to its individual strengths,” Brigitte Vöster-Alber continued. The sum of these individual strengths and achievements are the driving force that continually bring a company like GEZE forward - especially in the face of increasingly unpredictable world markets and developments.
Numerous innovations pave the way for a successful future
In 2015, GEZE can also look back over a successful year, which saw many new things get off the ground. In addition to introducing new and innovative products, such as the automatic Powerturn swing door drive, the new production hall at the Leonberg site was inaugurated after being built in record time. This too is a sign for GEZE to continue to commit to German production sites and to the on-site staff - in addition to its dedication to sites abroad. In addition to all the innovation, this reflects the continuity to which GEZE, as a family business with 150 years of tradition, always aspires.
This year’s anniversary celebration also saw us bid farewell to a particularly familiar colleague: Hermann Alber, who has been in charge of and successfully advanced the Technology field at GEZE as Managing Director for more than 30 years, is going into retirement. He is handing things over to Marc Alber, son of Hermann Alber and Brigitte Vöster-Alber. He received gifts from the staff and family as a big thank you. Among other things, there was a book in which all GEZE GmbH employees commemorated him with good wishes and words of farewell. However, despite his departure from GEZE management, Hermann Alber will remain with the company: he will continue to guide the destiny of the GEZE subsidiary IST systems as CEO.
