How to travel on public transport to and from Deakin University – Warrnambool Campus

Public transport information

To travel by VLine train:

  • take a Warnambool line train to Sherwood Park Station

or

  • take a Warrnambool line train to Warrnambool Station and connect with a Route 1, 5 or 6 bus to the Koroit Street Interchange. From the Koroit Street Interchange, change to a Route 3 or 9 bus to Deakin University Warrnambool.

To travel by VLine coach

  • take a Casterton to Melbourne via Warrnambool VLine coach and get off at Sherwood Park Coach Stop/Aitken Drive

or

  • take a Mt Gambier to Melbourne via Warrnambool VLine coach and get off at Sherwood Park Coach Stop/Aitken Drive

or

  • take a Warrnambool to Melbourne via Geelong VLine coach and get off at Sherwood Park Coach Stop/Aitken Drive.

To travel by bus

  • take a Route 3 bus and get off at Deakin University/Cafeteria Lane

or

  • take a Route 9 bus and get off at Princes Highway/Mahoneys Road. Walk down Mahoneys Road to Deakin University.

Passengers catching Warrnambool local Route 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 or 8 buses can connect with services to Deakin University Warrnambool at the Koroit Street Interchange.

myki is your reusable travel card for trains, trams and buses in Melbourne and some regional services across Victoria. Choose myki Money if you travel occasionally, and top up as you go. Concession travel

If you’re under 19 you can travel on a concession fare with a Child myki. If you’re 17 or 18, you must carry government issued proof of age ID (such as a passport, drivers licence, proof of age card), or proof of another concession entitlement (such as a Health Care Card).

If you're a tertiary student studying a full time undergraduate course on campus, you can apply for a PTV Tertiary Student ID. This costs $9 and allows you to use a Concession myki until 28 February next year. Download an applicationat ptv.vic.gov.au/students.

If you’re an international undergraduate student, you may be eligible to buy an annual iUSEpass which gives you half-price myki fares in the zones where you study. Visit ptv.vic.gov.au/iuse for more information.

If you're a postgraduate or part-time student, you're not eligible for concession fares. However, if you're on a low income, you may be eligible for a Health Care Card.International undergraduate students may be eligible to buy a half-price annual pass called aniUSEpassforthezone/sinwhichtheystudy.
