TENTATIVE rehearsal/performance/tech work schedule for

The Taming of the Shrew

  • You must turn this calendar in when they come to the monologue audition along with your application form, résumé, signed contract and a recent picture. If you have no conflicts, Write that on the calendar, and turn it in.
  • It is important that you AND your parents go over this calendar together. Frequently students don’t think it matters if they miss a certain family event but their parents will disagree.
  • Please indicate any conflicts on days indicated by an empty box. I am unsure how much rehearsing will be done in June and July. It will depend entirely on who is available and when. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX indicates you do not need to fill anything out as nothing will be scheduled on that day.
  • Please put all of these events on a calendar at home that is easily accessible to all family members so no events are scheduled for you on rehearsal days.
  • This calendar is considered a “contract”. Missing an event for any reason for which you have not indicated a conflict could jeopardizeyour participation in the play. The family/student cannot add conflicts to this calendar once it is turned in.
  • If a conflict is not listed on this calendar, you are expected to be at that rehearsal/work session unless you are not involved. [Cast members will not be required to attend rehearsals that do not involve the character(s) they are playing.]
  • MANDATORY means MANDATORY. You may not miss those rehearsals/performancesfor any reason. If you have a conflict, do not audition for the show.
  • It is the responsibility of parents and students to make sure that school work is getting done without missing rehearsals and performances.
  • It is the responsibility of parents and students to arrange for safe and timely transportation home from these rehearsals and performances.
  • Tech Work times will be posted once school gets started. Cast members are expected to put in 5 hours of tech time before August 24 and another 5 hours on August 24 or 31. They can choose the times that would be best for them.
  • We always welcome parent help for sewing, building sets, painting, working with lights and sound, providing or helping to sell refreshments. Email me immediately if you can help.
