Welcome to Microsoft Excel and Access! My name is Katherine Kauffman and I am originally from Buffalo NY. I graduated from Niagara University with a BS in Business Education. After working for Charleston County School District, I have decided to officially convert to White Oak High School. I am very excited to be a Viking! COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course focuses on desktop publishing, graphic image design, computer animation, multimedia production and webpage design. Communication skills and critical thinking are reinforced through software applications. English language arts and arts are reinforced.

COURSE BLUEPRINT OBJECTIVES

MULTIMEDIA AND GRAPHIC DESIGN
Understand design
1.01 Understand typography, multiuse design principles and elements.
1.02 Understand digital communication products.
Understand digital image design.
2.01 Understand digital raster graphics.
2.02 Understand digital vector graphics.
INTERACTIVE WEBSITE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
Understand time based media.
3.01 Understand principles of audio and video
3.02 Understand basic motion graphic programming.
Understand the fundamentals of web design.
4.01 Understand the fundamentals of HTML5 and CSS.
4.02 Understand the concepts of responsive web design

COURSE EXPECTATIONS

Attendance is necessary for success. You are responsible for knowing the WOHS Attendance Policy.

You have THREE days to submit work that you missed while absent.

Dedication is necessary for success in Multimedia and Webpage Design, just as it is in the business world. YOU are RESPONSIBLE for your grade.YOU will be provided EVERY opportunity to succeed. It is YOUR responsibility to accept these opportunities and to take advantage of them.

DRESS CODE:KNOW IT: “KNEES AND SLEEVES”

Any assignments submitted after the due date will earn no more than 70%.

NO FOOD OR DRINK on the computer desks.

Progress Reports will be issued every 4th Friday I require all progress reports to be signed. If you do not receive a progress report please contact me.
