Loomis USD Extended Day
Welcome!
Children participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities at the school site. There is a time for active play as well as time to relax---to read, do homework and participate in quiet activities. All of the children have the opportunity to learn and grow through play experiences such as:
- Creative art projects using a variety of mediums and environmental activities.
- Enjoy quiet time with stories, books, songs, tapes, puzzles, manipulative materials and table games.
- Increasing physical well being and coordination through recreation and sports activities.
- Enhancing critical thinking skills through age-level activities including designing projects and creative problem solving.
- Character Education activities.
GENERAL POLICIES
- Programs are operated by individual schools in the Loomis Union School Districts where there is sufficient interest shown by parents and space is available.
- Enrollment is open to all district children, provided the program can meet the needs of that child. It has long been the policy of the LoomisUnionSchool Districtthat children with special needs would not be denied child care services unless it was clear that their needs could not be met within the parameters of the program as established. Generally, a trial period is provided to determine whether the Loomis USD Extended Day Program can appropriately and safely meet the needs of the child. Part of our consideration is an evaluation of any placement in the program in terms of other children and staff utilization. Unfortunately, it does occur from time to time that the Loomis USD Extended Day Program is not a good fit for a child, other available alternatives are reviewed. Contact will be made with the child’s teacher/school to facilitate a smooth transition.
- The program is open to district students in grades
K-8, with priority given to families needing full- time care, daily, Monday through Friday.
STATEMENT OF NONDISCRIMINATION
Enrollment in the program shall be granted without discrimination in regard to sex, race, color, creed, or political belief.
Enrollment Priority is given as follows:
- Sibling of child currently enrolled in Loomis USD Extended Day
- Full Time Families – 5 days/week
- Part Time Families – 4 days/week
- Part Time Families – 3 days/week
- Part Time Families – 2 days/week
- Varied/Drop-in, as space is available
If your child is not in attendance at Loomis USD Extended Day site for 60 days, you may be droppedfrom the program. In the case that the Loomis USD Extended Day program is capped, you will be placed on a waiting list prior to re-enrollment.
