III)  Principal Comments: Gloria Hinz asked teachers to speak about Leader in Me. Julie Walkley gave an excellent description of Leader in Me. Becky Veitengruber and Sarah Rabaut reported on their visit to a LIM school, Snow Elementary. Both were impressed but noted that they observed a performance rather than everyday actions. They both wanted to see more in action in the classroom. It was agreed that the program should be brought to the Ferry parents to get their input. LIM will be shown to parents at back to school night.

IV)  Teacher Representative : Julie Faust reported the popcorn bar was a huge hit and they thanked us for teacher appreciation week.

V)  Recruiting: Becky Veitengruber reported we have many openings. Someone suggested the open positions be sent to room parents. Rania mentioned that some room parents are unable to communicate with the other parents. Discussion was tabled. It was suggested that open position be given to room parents so they can make personal phone calls to help recruit for the PTO positions.

VI)  Financial Report: The proposed budget was circulated and a small discussion followed. Patti Cleland needs check requests at minimum one week in advance.

VII)  Fundraising and Events

a)  Ice cream social: Shane Barr reported 75% of the volunteer spots were filled, and he reported on open positions. Parcels robotics team will be there. Sarah Rabout reported that cleanup was not listed as a position. We have about 30 baskets. Staff will do two baskets. One will be a booze basket where each staff member donates a bottle and all proceeds will go to LIM. Carrie Dollar voiced concern about the PTO baskets competing against LIM. It was noted that all the money was really for Ferry. Basket making may will be held at Carrie Dollar’s house.

b)  Mother/Son event: Becky Veitengruber gave a summary of the event. It was a hit. Max Box was there. Thank you to Nicol Brumme for making it possible.

c)  Science Olympiad: Carrie Dollar reported on the May tournament. The water rockets team took 2nd place.

a)  All water samples were clean

b)  Ferry has not done evacuation plan (scheduled for June 6th in morning)

c)  district may no longer pay for PTO audits

d)  Sodexo meeting: Expectations were made clear. We do not have facilities in each school to prepare meals. We could not take federal money then we don’t have to deal with federal guidelines and we could still pay for lunches.

e)  Kirby: sent home two fundraising cards to each home and charged $20

f)  Maire: held a hanging plant sale with Allemons; the PTO there can send out their own eblasts without going through the school secretary; they are sharing assemblies with Richard

g)  Trombley: made their goal for their greenhouse

IX)  Old Business

a)  Mrs. Faust reallocate classroom funds vote needed: Sarah Rabaut made a motion to approve moving Mrs. Faust’s $200 of classroom funds to service. Becky Veitengruber seconded the motion. The motion was approved.
