POSITION/JOB TITLE: Millwork Manufacturing Support
LOCATION: Brooklyn Park Manufacturing (BPM) FMLA Status: Non-Exempt

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: BPM Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: Supporting millwork product lines in areas of purchasing, inventory management, and production support at Brooklyn Park Manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Buyer
a) Place orders for inventoried millwork and related products
b) Assist with special order pricing and procurement
c) Verify vendor invoices for payment via order acknowledgements and receipts
d) Provide feedback to Product Manager on matters pertaining to vendors, products, pricing, etc.
e) Calculate and trim lumber
f) Code product and receive to inventory
g) Write transfer paperwork to procure material
h) Receive transferred material and process paperwork
2. Inventory Management
a) Assist with monitoring inventory levels via cycle counts, low stock alerts, etc.
b) Participate in identification and reduction of obsolete inventory
c) Requisition from stock all material that was transferred in and consumed in manufacture of project
d) Assist with physical inventory processes (preparation, conducting counts, reconcile variance, post-inventory adjustments and follow-up
3. Production Support
a) Provide input into the development of incoming quality control standards
b) Ensure tooling and equipment are in good working order; coordinate repair and new tooling needs vendors
c) Receive, document and inventory new tooling for specialty shop
d) Communicate to Sales / Customer when job is completed
e) Submit delivery tickets to Dispatch for delivery of finished jobs
4. Safety
a) Complete safety training as required
b) Report all safety concerns, hazards and incidents
c) Respect and comply with all company safety policies

a) Promote and support Continuous Improvement initiatives; follow Standard work as it applies to your work area and functions
b) Seek input from team to identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions

d) Occasional travel for purposes of vendor relations or training
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Maintain open communication with SBL sales staff at yards on matters pertaining to millwork capabilities, pricing, product availability, lead times, etc.
2. Open / distribute overnight mail (often contains samples that need pricing)
EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:
1. High School or GED required
2. Prior millwork experience preferred
3. Knowledge of residential construction materials and processes preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
1. Excellent customer service skills
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. Strong math aptitude required
4. Ability to interpret and understand blueprints
5. Competent in Microsoft Office computer programs
6. Strong attention to detail & accuracy
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. occasionally
2. Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist and reach with your body, arms and legs
3. Ability to use hands to grasp and manipulate objects
ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
2. Work in office/indoor and warehouse environments
3. Work in and around mechanical equipment; exposure to fumes, wood dust, and loud noises
4. Occasional travel to and from other SBL locations and jobsites
