Subject :TWO DAY NATIONAL CONFERENCE
on “Deconstructing the Problematics of Cultural Identity and Ethnic Politics in Contemporary Pakistan”.
SaraikiAreaStudyCentreBahauddinZakariyaUniversityis organizing a two day national conference on “Deconstructing the Problematics of Cultural Identity and Ethnic Politics in Contemporary Pakistan”. The conference was scheduled to be held on 15-16 June, 2012, but it was postponed due to some unavoidable reasons. The conference is now being rescheduled in February 2013. The papers are invited from the scholars and the researchers of the relevant disciplines to be submitted on relevant theme and sub themes of the conference which are as under:
1. Cultural diversity and national identity in Pakistan
2. Dynamics of ethnic politics in contemporary Pakistan
3. Developing model for cultural assimilation and harmonization in Pakistan.
4. Reconstructing the issues of cultural identity in Pakistan
5. Dynamics of ethnic & linguistic politics in contemporary Pakistan
6. Saraiki Cultural Identity in contemporary situation of Pakistani society
7. Multiculturalism, globalization, ethnicity and Pakistani society
8. Modern Saraiki Literature. A quest for cultural Identity.
The main focus of the conference may be on Saraiki Region/South Punjab in the contemporary ethno-political situation of Pakistan. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Khwaja Alqama is taking a keen interest in this conference due to the importance of the ethno-political situation of contemporary Pakistan. The scholars are requested to send the abstract of their papers uptill December 10, 2012. The scholars who have already submitted abstract of their papers are requested to send the copies of their complete papers uptill December 25, 2012 as we want to publish the proceedings of the conference. Kind and quick response from the scholars, academicians and researchers will be very helpful for us. The language of the papers may be English, Saraiki and Urdu.
