Job Description:
This is an opportunity to gain excellent experience within a dynamic, market-leading small business. This is a real job, with real responsibilities. You will receive comprehensive training as the Marketing & Sales Administration Assistant, and then be promoted to Manager, with responsibility to train the next student. It will suit a student looking to gain experience across a wide range of business areas.Specifically:
- Sales, marketing and office administration management
- Responsibility for putting our monthly member’s magazine together. This is the main part of the job and is a big responsibility; you will do everything after the advertising deals have been closed; invoicing, preparation of order confirmation paperwork, chasing payments, advert contents and confirmations from clients, working with graphic designer, proofing adverts to clients for approval, sending amendments and the final advert back and forth, page and layout planning, credit control etc.
- Updating of web site advertising area: uploading and removing adverts, advising clients etc.
- Marketing and E-marketing: overseeing and executing targeted e-mail marketing campaigns to members and clients (using GroupMail Pro), finding new prospects etc
- Databasing of all new enquiries and setting of sales activities (via Act!)
- Registration of new members
- Payment processing and bank reconciliations
- Generally assisting and working closely with Managing Director and Sales Manager
- Liaise with members, clients and suppliers
- You will also receive training and further your skills in contemporary office software (Act!, Sage accounting, MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, GroupMail Pro)
- Many other day to day duties and activities
- We are a small company that works as a close team, and we are get involved in everything
- The successful candidate will work in a relaxed semi-formal office environment
NB: You will spend 3 months in training as the Assistant under the tutelage of the Manager. (The Manager is also a student). Once the Manager leaves, you will automatically be promoted to Manager for the next 3 months, and you will have a new Assistant Manager for you to train and assist you.
Essential requirements:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Fluent in second European language
- Available 2nd July until 31st December 2012
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident telephone manner
- Ability to work professionally, quickly and accurately whilst under pressure
- Self-motivation, pleasant personality. Must like working with people
- Ability to communicate with accuracy and clarity in both verbal and written communications.
- Strong IT skills, MS Office etc
Desirable attributes:
- Preferably some work experience abroad
- Preferably some experience in administration
- Preferably some experience in a marketing or sales environment
- Preferably 3rd year of study or above.
- Preferably an interest in small business
- Previous experience in a commercial office/business environment would be an advantage.

- The company office is located in Kenilworth,, which is a town between Coventry (8km), Birmingham (20km), and Stratford-on-Avon (20km). The most famous feature of Kenilworth is its historic ruined castle
- It is also 6km from Leamington Spa), which is a large, very lively and beautiful old town. Some students choose to live in Leamington, and catch a bus to Kenilworth.
- It is also very close to historic Warwick, with its amazing medieval castle (one of the UK's most popular tourist attractions . Also Stratford Upon Avon is close by - the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
- London is about 160 km south, and there are train stations in Leamington, Warwick and Coventry that go directly to London in about 1.5hrs. The nearest airport is Birmingham International, about 15 km away.
Remuneration details:
- The successful candidate will be provided with a package worth £700 (GBP) per month
