New managing director at Telegärtner
(Steinenbronn) Florian Gärtner has been appointed new Managing Director of Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH. The industrial engineer succeeds his father Hartmut Gärtner who is moving to the advisory board of the group of companies. The grandson of the company founder intends to work with Christian Harel to continue the successful growth strategy of this long-established company. Further product diversification and internationalisation as well as investments in the site at Steinenbronn aim to strengthen the location and create secure jobs for the long term. Those responsible for the family business have thus effected a smooth transfer to the third generation.
Florian Gärtner took over as Managing Director of Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH on 1 September. The 36-year-old mechatronics and industrial engineer has been working in his grandparent's company since 2007 and has been a member of the management board since 2011. He is taking over the function of technical managing director from his father Hartmut Gärtner who is moving to the advisory board of the group after 45 successful years at the family company. Together with Christian Harel who has been Managing Director, Sales and Product Management since February 2015, Florian Gärtner intends to continue the successful development of the company with a growth and diversification strategy. For example, a total of 15 million euros will be invested in the site at Steinenbronn by 2017 to construct new administrative, production and logistic buildings.
Unprecedented company development
The outgoing managing director Hartmut Gärtner started working in his father's company at the age of 25 in 1970 and ran the business with his brother Ulrich Gärtner from 1977. Under his management, Telegärtner Karl Gärtner GmbH developed from a regional company with 19 staff at the time to a globally active group of companies with 14 subsidiaries and 650 employees. Telegärtner is now one of the most important manufacturers in the full-service provision of professional and innovative solutions in connection and transmission technology.
Successful family business succession
In addition to the smooth transition which has ensured a steady continuation of business, the change of management at Telegärtner is also regarded as an excellent example of a successful family business succession. This also highlights the role of Daniel Gärtner. As the brother of Florian Gärtner and with a degree in Business Law to his credit, Daniel has been running the company Telegärtner-Beteiligungs-GmbH since 2011 together with the Group CFO and Economics graduate Michael Kolban. This company pools all the activities of the subsidiaries together. Furthermore, both brothers took over the management of TG Holding GmbH on 1 July 2015.
