121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry History Re-enactors

121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry Company was formed in mid August of 1862 from Marion Delaware and surrounding counties. The unit itself fought in most of the major battles in the Western Theater including Perrysville, their first battle, and all the way up to and including Sherman's march to the sea.

This particular reenacting unit was formed in the early 1980s and has been around to significantly contribute to reenacting. They are available for public presentations as well as presentations for educational purposes.

Also available, is an independent battery of artillery which has the James 14 pound rifled James cannon and is known as the Ohio 9th independent Battery. The 121st has participated not only in national and local historical reenactment, ( every year we host travel through time at Sawyer Ludwig park here in Marion ),they are also available to educate the public about the significance of the soldier and Ohio's contributions during the Civil War with historical presentations in schools, library programs and the community.
