Part 1—Preliminary

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to prescribe—

(a)forms and fees for the purpose of licensing race-courses and racing clubs for race-meetings;

(b)the scale for a map or plan of a race-course required to be lodged with a race-course licence application;

(c)fees for a consent to hold a picnic race-meeting and an authority to hold a restricted harness racing meeting.

2.Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 19, 19A, 24, 24A, 25 and 36 of the Racing Act 1958.

3.Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on the day on which section 183 of the Gaming and Betting Act 1994 comes into operation.

4.Revocation

The Regulations listed in Schedule 1 are revoked.

5.Definition

In these Regulations, "Act" means the Racing Act 1958.

Part 2—Race-Course Licences

6.Application form for licence

r. 6

For the purposes of section 24(2) of the Act, the prescribed form for an application for a race-course licence is the form in Schedule 2.

7.Application fee

For the purposes of section 24(2) of the Act, the prescribed fee is $90.

8.Form of licence

For the purposes of section 24(4)(b) of the Act, the prescribe form for a race-course licence is the form in Schedule 3.

Part 3—Racing-Club Licences

9.Application form for licence

For the purposes of section 24A(5) of the Act, the prescribe form for an application for a racing-club licence is the form in Schedule 4.

10.Application fee

For the purposes of section 24A(5) of the Act, the prescribed fee is $150.

11.Form of licence

For the purposes of section 24A(7)(b) of the Act, the prescribe form for a racing-club licence is the form in Schedule 5.

Part 4—Miscellaneous

12.Scale of map or plan of a race-course

For the purposes of section 25 of the Act, the prescribe scale of a map or plan of a race-course is 1:5000.

13.Picnic race-meeting fee

For the purposes of section 19(1) of the Act, the prescribe fee for a consent to hold a picnic race-meeting is $14.

14.Restricted harness racing meeting fee

For the purposes of section 19A(1) of the Act, the prescribe fee for an authority to hold a restricted harness racing meeting is $14.

1.General Information

Endnotes

The Racing (Race-course Licences and Racing-club Licences) Regulations 1994, S.R.No.121/1994 were made on 9 August 1994 by the Governor in Council under sections 19, 19A, 24, 24A, 25 and 36 of the Racing Act 1958, No.6353/1958 and came into operation on 15 August 1994: reg. 3.

The Racing (Race-course Licences and Racing-club Licences) Regulations 1994 will sunset 10 years after the day of making on 9 August 2004 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).
