DWN key stakeholders – DairyNZ is a key relationship.
Purpose / The Regional Convenor Coordinator role supports the development of our regional group network by supporting volunteers to manager their groups, deliver inspiring events and assist in the establishment of new groups. This role is pivotal in implementing DWN strategy alongside our Trust Board, CEO, employees and volunteers.
Overview / The Dairy Women’s Network is a credible and influential group in the dairy industry. Our purpose is “to support and inspire NZ women to succeed in the business of dairying”. We focus on 4 strategic areas; developing and recognizing talent, farmer work environment, finance and compliance.
We are a charitable trust working across New Zealand with 32 volunteer Regional Convenors to deliver inspiring training events supporting women to succeed.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Role:
Regional Groups (RGC)
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all RGC’s. Work with them to develop regional plans and personal development plans
- Keep current RGC contact data, and provide to Office Manager for distribution
- Provide liaison between RGC’s and the Management Team, and, as appropriate, with external personnel (e.g. DairyNZ).
- Make regular telephone contact with all RGC’s and ensure regular communication by email, social media with all RGC’s. Visit regional groups as appropriate.
- Be involved in Dairy Module training development and roll-out and other events where applicable
- Initiate, support and contribute succession planning strategies and plans with RGC’s to ensure ongoing group activity.
- Contribute to development of an delivery of induction training to new RGC’s
- Identify new areas for regional groups and initiate set-up of new groups.
- Review RGC’s manual content and assist with provision of manuals to RGC’s.
- Record and analyze group activity – meetings held, topic of meeting, number attending.
- Prepare monthly report for CEO.
- Assist CEO with planning and execution of annual RGC training.
Communication
- In consultation with the Office Manager, support the development of any articles, meeting notices or meeting reports etc., and be responsible for ensuring all relevant Regional Group info is on DWN web site.
- Be aware of local events, field days etc. so that DWN can have a presence at these events if appropriate and can, where possible, avoid clashes with DWN events
- Monitor social media and contribute where appropriate
- Contribute to good communication practices within DWN and between DWN, its members and partners.
Teamwork
- Work effectively and harmoniously as part of a team to ensure seamless flow of event organization
- Maintain efficient and effective records and systems.
- Attend DWN organized events to provide support in professional running of events by assisting with set-up, taking registrations and other event functions.
- Encourage and contribute to an innovative and continuous improvement of our culture
- Assist other team members to achieve overall goals of the organization where it is appropriate to do so.
Financial
- Manage allocated tasks within budget.
- Ensure invoices, expense claims and other financial documents are presented to the CEO for approval at the end of each month.

- Maintain up-to-date skills for coaching and mentoring by attending appropriate training.
