DETAILS: This course was specifically developed around the ILETSB approved curriculum in compliance with Public Act 96-1111. Only law enforcement officers who successfully complete such a training program or receive a waiver of compliance based upon prior training and/or experience as a homicide investigator may be assigned as lead investigators in death and homicide investigations. The law went into effect January 1, 2012.
This comprehensive 40-hour program provides instruction on investigating and prosecuting death cases—from the start of the investigation through evidence collection, suspect interviews, press conferences, trial testimony and ultimately conviction. Learn state-of-the-art techniques from an ex-Commander of a Major Crimes Task Force, a highly experiences Prosecutor, and a leading Cyber Times Investigator.
