- In Care Organizer, click Active as the display option.
- Click an order that is highlighted in yellow.
- Click the Confirm button
- Select Confirm.
- To only send a message to the pharmacy, click Send Rx Message Only. Then enter your message.
- Click OK.
- Take patient medication to bedside.
- Scan your patientLaunch HED. Click Admin.
- Scan the medication bar code.
- If the scanned medication is listed and is a unique order, then the medication is highlighted
- If the scanned medication matches more than one order, the Matched Med Orders window displays:
- Select the correct order and click OK, or
- Click New Order and the medication is entered as a new order.
- Scan the patient bar code.
- Modify information as appropriate.
- Administer the med to the patient.

1.Take patient medication to bedside.
2.Scan your patient. Launch HED.

5.Review the order details to verify it matches the med you are administering.

- Medication modifications can only be made up to 12 hours after administration.
- Select or scan your patient.
- Launch HED and access the CRv in Review mode.
- Click the med administration you need to modify Result Detail window opens, click the field you want to modify.
- Chart the correct information in the charting field.
- Click Save.
- Scan your staff ID badge
- Select or scan your patient.
- Select the IV AdMin tab on the main chart menu.
- Start a new administration or click a currently hanging bottle.
- Click Rx Comm.
- Click the Note text box and type your comment or request.
- Click OK twice.

- Select IV Admin from chartable reviews on the chart menu.
- Make sure documentation time is correct.
- Click New IV.
- Address any warning messages that display.
- Select the solution from the list.
- Click Show Ingred to see all ingredients.

- Since the IV barcode was not scanned, select an override reason.
- Scan the patient’s barcode.

- Optional: Change the quantity and/or units for an ingredient(s), if needed. Click OK.
- Click OK on the Add New IV window.
- Enter the infusion rate/dose.
- Select appropriate drip calculation.
- Enter or change the infusion site as required.

1.In the vitals/meds/I&O CRv, go to IV MED DRIPS.
2.Click on rate or dose result to open new window.
3.Modify or clear the rate/dose or items you would like to change in the appropriate field.
4.Click Save(modified items will show in parentheses).
5.Cosign is done in HED for IV solutions.
6.Follow steps 1-3 above, click in the Cosign area
7.Cosigner can scan their staff ID barcodeor type in their User ID and password, Click Save. /
- Select or scan your patient
- Select IV Admin
- Set the Documentation time.
- Click a current IV
- Click and highlight the Infus Rate field.
- Enter new rate and press Tab
- Click Save.
- Scanstaff ID barcode
- Go to IV Admin.
- Click to highlight a current IV
- Click on the Calc Intk button
- Repeat steps 2 & 3 for each IV infusing
- When all intake is calculated Click SAVE
- Scanyour staff ID barcode
displays the amount infused.
To add a piggyback
- Place the Continuous IV on hold in IV Admin by clicking the dropdown menu and changing from ml/hr to hold
- In AdminRx, scan the piggyback
- After all your piggyback is infused, restart continuous IV infusion in IV Admin
- Enter piggyback volume in Vitals I & O
- Select IV Admin from chartable reviews on chart menu
- Make sure documentation time is correct.
- Click an existing IV.
- Click and highlight the Dose or Rate field.
- Type the new dose or rate.
- Click the down arrow and select dose units from list.
- Click Save.

- Sign on using your McKesson User Name and Password. Result: The Care Organizer window opens.
- Select your patient.
- To access HED from Care Organizer, click Chart on the Menu Bar; then clickNursing or click theLaunch HEDbutton.
- To logout, click File then Exit, then press ESC on the keyboard

- Scan patient barcode on wristband.
